My sony str-de415 receiver will not turn on. When the power button is depressed, a slight click sounds. the only lights that come up are the mode (ie, surround, concert hall, studio). The unit will not play thru any input or output. The additional AC utlet is still working and my remote will turn the unit off. I know that it is off b/c the mode light goes out. Any advice?

The power light "red light" is flashing in the front of the reciever, it just went out of warranty we checked all the fuses and they are fine, what do I need to do to get it working. its last years model 815 and it is silver please email or call me at 912 541 0647 my name is Miller thank you.

I have a surround sound receiver rca model #RT2500.It has a diode that lights up on a circuit board.When the diode is lit no sound comes out of my speakers when the light goes off it seems to be working properly.How could I fix this problem?

I have a 5.1 surround setup with a Sony STR-DE898/B 7.1 700W receiver and a set of pretty nice JBL speakers (front towers, center, rears and sub).

In the last few months, the left front tower has begun to pop occasionally. Any ideas why this might be?

I've gotten mixed advice on this, so I thought I'd bring it to the experts.

When connecting my video components in my entertainment center to my TV, should I go through my receiver or go directly to the TV. Assume I have enough inputs on the TV to go either way.

Parenthetically, inputs include DVD (S-video), Media Center (DVI or S-video), TiVo (S-video) and VCR (coax). My receiver does not support DVI.
