Receivers and Audio Components

I have a Harmon Kardon AVR 430 and also I have a Niles Speaker switch. The Niles should be hooked up to the HK Reciever. Where would I do that? I ahve several option - speaker in speaker out, surround sound, center speakerback speaker
I have 5 speakers for my surround sound plus two speaker in two other rooms.

For some reason I can't get sound on surround modes (5CH stereo, Rock Arena, Jazz Club, Matrix, etc.) from DENON AVR-2802.
From 'SELECT' knob on main unit i can get sound only from modes: DIRECT, STEREO, DOLBY PROLOGIC II, DTS NEO:6. On all other modes I have no sound from ANALOG or DIGITAL input (5CH Stereo, Rock Arena, Jazz Club, etc.)If I use DIGITAL input (optical) on this modes, DIGITAL sign is flushing on Display. I've checked manual instruction - Surround modes and troubleshooting,
there's nothing about it. I need some help over here.

Just a quick question. In my home theatre system I'm driving my front speakers with a seperate, more powerfull amplifier. Does the sound take longer to get processed than the sound to the other speakers? If this is the case then the delay settings won't be correct with just the distance calculations. Any thoughts?
