Can you be more specific as to the problem you're having? Are you getting an error message on your CD player? Does it seem like it's working, but you get no sound?
Sorry, I meant to say that the CD player will read the CD but will not play any music. After it tries to read the CD, nothing works and the CD tray kicks the CD out of the player. The speakers on the unit work because the radio and the tape deck play the music from those sources. I have no Error messages on the CD player. This CD palyer is a tower unit that has 5 slots for CDS, the radio and tape deck. Thank you, Gina
What bugs me is that the CD tray automatically kicks out the CD when it fails. That's not normal. It's going to need to be opened in order to figure out what it's doing. There may be some kind of mechanical issue, but it could just as be electronic. Has there been any power failures or brownouts in your home lately?
Considering that it's six years old, I wouldn't expend much effort in fixing it. Given the original MSRP of $139, and a working value of about $35, buying a new one would be a much better use of your money.
We have had no power failures or burnouts in my home. However, a couple of months ago the CD tray would not close and we fixed the problem and the Cd player worked until this week. Thank you for your help.
I have the same stereo. How did you clean it? I have a CD that says it is a cleaner but it isn't making it work. The unit says it is not a disk. It knows other disks and can tell me how many tracks the disk has. But it will not play any songs. I can hear it spinning.

It may be something mechanical. Does it make any odd noises when you close the CD drawer? Do you hear the disc spinning when it tries to read it?
It does makes some odd noises. You can hear the disc spinning while the player is trying to read it.

Just wanted to let you know that I got my CD player to work. All it needed was to be cleaned. Thank you for your help and support.
