Receivers and Audio Components

Just received a Sony DAV-DX and after hooking it all up, it shows a black and white screen. The DVD's are also in blk. and white. So what did I, or Sony do wrong? All cables are hooked up as the book shows.

Bummer...

I hooked up a Sony DVD Home Theatre System (DAV-DZ100) for a friend. The cd/dvds when played have great sound - yet there is NO sound when I switch over to tv.

He has basic cable - no cable box - cable is hokked directly to his television.

I used a set of wires (red. white, yellow) Gold Series A/V Cable @ RadioShack between the home theatre and the tv.

I am at a loss - please tell me it's something simple.

The dislay on my Integra DTR-5.2 receiver is no longer displaying anything. The receiver itself seems to be functioning properly. Any idea if it's possible to repair the display myself? Any idea where I can obtain parts?
