Television and Home Theater

Hi.  I have a Hitachi 53" rear projection tv.  Today, when my son turned it on, there was a glitch with the screen.  There is a "fold", for lack of a better word, at the top, and the colors are all screwed up!  I have 2 pictures.  This is what I am dealing with.

Don't know if anyone can help but I have a Magnavox 27MS343S with the child lock enabled -NOT Parental Lock- (Child lock prevents use of front buttons of tv) when my toddler smashed the remote. Remote no longer works, TV was off when it happened and I can't turn it on. I've tried unplugging it and waiting for 10 sec., and 10 min (according to Magnavox tech people) and plugging it back in both with and without the power button being held down and it hasn't worked. The next bit of advice was to buy a universal remote, which I did but you have to have the TV on to program it.

5 years ago I purchased KP-57HW40 for $2400 and thought I got a good deal. Last year I noticed that the screen would have a blue hue to it untill it warmed up. Then a week later it went completely blue and shut off. power light blinks 6 times. took and had it repaired for $471 and exactly 361 days later it started again. 363 days after repair and it won't turn on and blinks 6 times. They replaced 5 caps, 1 diode and 3 ic's. this sounds in accordance with the code. So now a guy is coming to look at it again.
