Television and Home Theater

Greeting,

My Sony 37'' TV is in dire need of repair. Bought new Sept 2005.

It started out shutting down after about 10 minutes of play.

Now the green power light blinks for about 2 minutes than goes to steady green. I press the power button again than get a steady red standby light.

I have unplugged the TV several times still no joy.

NO picture, no fans running, no sound.

Can anyone help.

My tv will power on but then turns back off anywhere between 5 sec. and 3 min. the dam thing will not stay on. I have a service manual for the unit but the manual is very general on repairing the unit. Any one have any ideas on what to look for?

I purchased a Vizio VX42L a few months ago and mounted it to the wall with the Universal Swingout Arm (VMA4260).

All went well until one day the coax cable to the antenna got caught when I was pulling the screen away from the wall.  It snapped off the DTV input connector.

The repair estimate from Vizio is substantial.  Is there an easier fix for this to get the connector replaced?

I am currrently using broadcast signal until next year I plan to get cable or a media center PC.  Then I suppose I won't need that connector.
