Changed flyback and HOT on 32 RCA now I get a snapping noise

Changed flyback and HOT. tried it and it worked. I have had it on for about 2 hours and I just heard a distinctive snap.....3 times and then I unplugged the TV. It was like a high voltage to ground snap sound.

 Sony KB-36HS20. Has sound but no picture.  The sound quits in approximately 20-30 seconds. 

The Stand by light flashes 4 times and is off 4 times again etc. continuously.  I pushed start sound comes on but no picture.   The sound quits in approximately 20-30 seconds.

Help Replacing Sony Convergence IC

I have read the directions on this forum and am in the middle of replacing the IC's (Thanks a ton to Larry). My desoldering is fine but my problem is that I cannot pry the IC away from the board. It seems that thermal paste has harden and is difficult to dislodge. Can I get some assistance please. Thanks
