Television and Home Theater

I have a KP-65WV600 Sony TV which is about four years old now and am starting to have trouble with it.  Just the other night I powered it up and it had a primarily red screen and the screen size was stretched awkerdly top to bottom.  Is this a difficult fix?  Should I leave it to a pro?  I have experience in repairing computers but not in soldering of electrical parts.

Has anyone else replaced this IC? I got the old one out and noticed that pin 19 comes out of the IC, but doesn't go through the circuit board. The back side of the board has a solder filled hole but no pin. 

From looking at the wiring schematic for the IC I notice that Pin 19 is the "output Mute". 

Is this pin not supposed to be soldered?

Anyone know?

I have a Sony KP 61v15. The picture started to "stretch" on the edges. It is normal in the middle and then the colors/picture arc on the corners. Is it possible that the mirror slipped out of place?
For example, text in the upper right corner will be on a semi-circle arch. Is this a mechanical problem (mirror or something) or an electronic component that would have gone bad?
