help with STK393-110 IC on Mitsu ws-55511

Hi!

Has anyone else replaced this IC? I got the old one out and noticed that pin 19 comes out of the IC, but doesn't go through the circuit board. The back side of the board has a solder filled hole but no pin.

From looking at the wiring schematic for the IC I notice that Pin 19 is the "output Mute".

Is this pin not supposed to be soldered?

Anyone know?

Thanks!

No,you shouldn't worry about

No,you shouldn't worry about it. The unit you are installing it into does not use that pin. Thats why it is like that.

Thank you for the quick reply

Thank you for the quick reply!

I figured it wasn't used, but didn't recall that pin being cut off the old IC.

Thanks again!

Yes, Alot of the time you may

Yes, Alot of the time you may also find that the legs WILL go through the board and be soldered in place, but the solder pad they go to is not connected to any circuit trace..It is just a clean and safe way of terminating them.

Hi again!

Hi again!

So I installed the board with the new IC on it, and the green line issue went away, however now the convergence is way way off!

Here's a picture of the advanced convergence image.

Obviously something else is broken, anyone have any idea where I should look?

thanks again!

check the two 5amp picos

check the two 5amp picos F9A04 and F9A05 those usually blow when the Ic goes out
