Television and Home Theater

Hello i am having a problem with my computer, i have a tower i have built from basically nothing, recently i have purchased a GeForce Fx 5200 with S-cable output. when i hook it up to my tv the tv is black and white how would i go about fixing this problem. and i do have the settings on clone.

well about a year and a half ago, my tv was on, it was the summer. and i had it plugged into a multi adapter type thing, and in the other free outlet on the wall, i tried plugging in my old sega genesis. a spark ensued, and my tv flickered off. since then, it hasn't gone on. when i try turning it on, it lights up a small bit, as if it's trying to turn on, and then doesn't. when opening the back, i've noticed a part is brown and appears to be burnt, as you might be able to tell from the picture i've included. if anyone could help me, i'd be very appreciative.

I have a philips big screen model #50p8342 and it freezes if you turn it on and put it on a channel it is stuck there it wont turn channels the volume wont go up or down the tv will not turn on or off by the remote or tv you have to unplug the tv and wait 10 or 15 minutes plug it back in and start all over anyone have this same problem or know whats wrong with it??? Please Help
