help, ge 52 inch tv

well about a year and a half ago, my tv was on, it was the summer. and i had it plugged into a multi adapter type thing, and in the other free outlet on the wall, i tried plugging in my old sega genesis. a spark ensued, and my tv flickered off. since then, it hasn't gone on. when i try turning it on, it lights up a small bit, as if it's trying to turn on, and then doesn't. when opening the back, i've noticed a part is brown and appears to be burnt, as you might be able to tell from the picture i've included. if anyone could help me, i'd be very appreciative. most electronic stores are saying they'll charge $150 just to even LOOK at it.. thank you for your help.
