Hi Larry,

Hi Larry,

I just replaced a lamp in my friends WD-52525 set today, and at first had the blinking light problem listed above. I put the old lamp in and everything was fine...re-installed the new lamp, and everything worked fine. However, when the set asked me if I had installed a new lamp, I responded appropriately, but the orange LED stayed active. Is there a way to reset the timer manually? I can't seem to find it in the normal user menu.

Also, would you please send the repair info you have been so kind to send to everyone else? I'm afraid the blinking green light may return after reading all these posts, so I may as well be ready for it. Fortunately, I have all the cap values that have been listed in stock!

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Hi Larry,

Hi Larry,
I had the blinking light and then after reseting it a couple of times it finally came back on. But now when it is on i have a blue screen with flickering horizontal lines. Does this sound like the caps as well? If so, could you please send me the instructons. Thanks a million.

Hi Larry. I have the WD

Hi Larry. I have the WD-52525 and I'm getting the green continuous blinking light after approximately 8 minutes of TV use. The green light will eventually stop after 30 minutes to an hour and I get another 8 or so minutes of TV before it shuts off again and the green light continuously blinks. Is it possible something is overheating within? Maybe a fan issue?
I am very interested in receiving information on fixing this problem. Any help would be appreciated greatly. Also, where can I get a service manual for this TV? Will the service manual help me figure this problem out?
Thanks in advance Larry.

Hi Larry could you send me all the instructions and info to [email protected] thanks.

I have replaced some bad caps and tv powers on but now i am getting a fuzzy effect around the image after it warms up. dont think it is the signal board as if i just have a blue screen and select the menu if will have the effect once the tv has warmed up. could it be the fmt board or maybe some kind of voltage regulation?

Thank you Larry but it did

Thank you Larry but it did not work

I still had the blinking light problem after replacing all the 1000ufv16 and the 3300uf10v on the dm,fmt, and power boards and one fuse on the dm board. But I noticed that if I unplug the four wire connector(j8f03) on the fmt board the blinking light stops after a minute but no picture( per previous post). To make more intersting is that when I plug the connector back in I get a picture but its only white with black dashes but very bright and straight, and the picture stays on for hours. When I power it down the next startup is back to the blinking light. At this point Im not sure what to do. I checked all the fuses on all the boards and I dont see anything smoked. Im even thinking of bypassing the fmt board with a computer connected directly to the dvi connector. Not to sure about that one but its an option. Also when I unplug the fmt board by both the ribbins at the bottom the blinking light stops but no picture. Im pretty sure its the fmt board but its $200 at PTS and the chassis is $300 either is repair only. Nothing in stock. I dont have the money for this now so off to work I go. any other ideas...

Ok I pulled the electrical

Ok I pulled the electrical chasis from my WD-52525 and separated all of the circuit boards. I replaced 8 1000uf 16V caps with 35v caps. Six of the eight were swollen. All other caps on all boards appear to be OK (not swollen or blown or visibly leaking). I put it all back together and the blinking green light went away after 1 minute. I then was able to turn my set on which I was unable to do before replacing the caps. I watched 15 minutes of TV and it shut itself off without warning and the green light began blinking again. ??????????????
I heard the thermister (Thermal sensor switch) to the lamp could also be the problem. Is there a way to test this thermister switch prior to me ordering a new one?

Well got my tv up and running

Well got my tv up and running. Still have picture problems. It like looking at a cartoon but I will try the other inputs later. Just want to say that it is very important to check the fuses(all of them an all three boards) with a good volt meter. Do a ohms test and should read very low like .2. I had one that showed it was connected but still had to much resistance. I still have to unplug the FMT board to get it to boot but after that it works fine for hours. Also when its powered off it will come one with the press of the botton( no unplugging). I think the fmt board is bad but I have to way of getting one. ( can affard it right now) If any one wants to sell one cheap let me know [email protected] . Im still trying to find out what is happeneing so the input can help all of you. I think the problem is always there and is not known until you reboot(unplug the tv or hit reset) and the board doesnot boot back up. Well back to testing..also want to note that Mitsubishi help line was a joke. They want me to bring in the tv for diag and have to pay the massive mark up. I told them this is a known problem and she agreed but they cant do anything about it. She agreed that a new tv would be cheaper and tried to sell me another Mitsubishi. I just laughed.
