I have a 24" Magnavox combo

I have a 24" Magnavox combo tv.  It was working last night and when I tried to turn it on today, nothing happened.  It will not turn on.  I bought it 5 months ago.  I checked fuse and it was burnt out so I replaced it, and it keeps burning out when I plug the tv back in.  Can you help me?

I have a  32" SONY TV, model

I have a  32" SONY TV, model # KB-32HS420 approximately 1 1/2yrs old. It will intermittently shut off. Sometimes it shuts off after it has been on for hour or 2 or only after being on 10 or 15 minutes. This problem just started a few days ago. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

MerryR, does the set go out

MerryR, does the set go out completely, no picture or no sound?  Does the light on the front blink any constant code?  Check this out.  Get back to us if you have any more questions.  Good Luck http://www.techlore.com/article/15444...

Thanks your for such a quick response. Yes, the TV shuts off as if you are manually shutting it down. There is no picture or sound. It is in an "off mode".  The red light blinks seven times. Yesterday the TV stayed on for 4 hours, then it shut down. I waited a few minutes and turned it on again, but it took 3-4 attempts before staying on. Then it would go out after approximately 10-15mins. This happened about 4 times. On the last attempt, it stayed on for 2 hours until I shut it off. Your comments are appreciated.

Seven blinks - High voltage

Seven blinks - High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits. I would say, its not a quicky fix and could be a dog to find, unless it happens all the time.  Could be a simple cold solder connection in the main power supply regulator.  if you have no TV trouble shooting experience, play it safe and seek the assistance of a trained tech on this one.  Good Luck, and please keep us posted.

I did a little research on

I did a little research on this one. It appears that this is a common failure.
The problem is most likely an open capacitor (C6532) which is a 56000pf Film cap located on the B board. While the replcaement of this component is easy. This is in a high voltage circuit and should be done by an experienced Tech.

Yes Dan this is a problem i have found a couple of times.  I think Sony under rated the voltage on this one.  Its part of the High Voltage regulation circuit.  Thanks for the update.

Mitsubishi 52" DLP:  Recently

Mitsubishi 52" DLP:  Recently I have noticed the TV only projecting in black and white.  I can change the channel, wait 5-10 seconds, color reappears.  Change back to previous channel- color's fine.  Is it a signal problem, TV problem?  If you have any ideas, I'ld love to hear them.  Thanks

Best way to tell if there is

Best way to tell if there is a problem with your TV or the signal source, is to simply attach another TV set to the same connection that the TV in question is located.  If you have no problem there with another TV, then you know you most likly have a bad tuner in the set. or a problem in the color processor.  Good Luck.  Let us know how you made out.

The problem is that the +12V

The problem is that the +12V is missing. This is from the "A" board. Also suggested in the service manual is that IC561 is faulty.

Dan, according to my manual,

Dan, according to my manual, Four blinks - No vertical Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505.  I looked in like 5 differanr manuals, and they all say the same thing?  Oh did you get that set fixed, The JVC?

Larry, The listing for the 4

Larry, The listing for the 4 blinks came from the KV27FS100 on-line service manual.   I spoke with another tech who indicated that this often is the audio amp IC that goes bad dragging down the +12 line.

Getting close on the JVC.  I have traced the problem to Q543 getting too hot.  Haven't figgered out why yet though...

Thanks Dan I am going have to

Thanks Dan I am going have to check into that.  Oh good luck with that pincussion transistor overheating.  I have found anything from high resistive leakage in the  pincussion drive transistors to the caps. in the horizontal out circuit.

mitsubishi VS-50803 .  while

mitsubishi VS-50803 .  while off unit was hit by power spike from pole.  now no click , no light, plain dead.  should i begin with replacing power supply or do these tv's have a fuse that will be ruined when high voltage hits?  I have read the posts and i realize its tough to diagnose this particular problem, i guess i am hoping that the manufacturer built a safety feature in that will let one item fry to protect the rest, wishful thinking?

I'm not sure about this set,

I'm not sure about this set, but some Manufacturers put in whats called a thyristor, and what this does in case of a large surge is short out the AC line, as thats what it is mounted across, and blows the main AC fuse.  If you think you can handle a repair, and know how to solder and read a schematic.  The first thing to do is get a schematic that you can share with us, so we can direct you in the right direction.  If the main AC fuse is popped and is black, don,t go any farther unless you get the service manual and have a multimeter.  Good Luck and please keep us informed of this repair.  You can download an inexpensive copy of the service manual HERE

I can not get my flat screen

I can not get my flat screen lcd tv to output audio.  It is a Samsung LN-S2651D.

The headphones don't work when plugged into the headphone jack.  When I plug RCA cables into the audio output and plug them into the stereo input nothing happens.  Any suggestions?
Thanks,

I have a Hitachi 51" wide

I have a Hitachi 51" wide screen (51SWX20B).  It's probably about 5 years old and when you turn it on it turns itself off after about 2 seconds.  It seems to me to be a fuse or something but I am far from an electronics expert.  There is only one TV repair close by and they want me to bring the TV in and they also have a questionable reputation.  Thanks in advance for any help.

FlorentineHott, I do not see

FlorentineHott, I do not see that model number on my data list. Check to see if there is an audio section in the menu on the TV setup.  Look for things like speaker on and off, of course the speakers should be turned on, also there maybe a small little switch on the back of the set that may turn the speakers on and off.  Also in the menu, check to see the SAP(second Audio Program) is turned off and on normal audio. If this does not work, you could have a fault in the audio processor circuit of the TV set.  This will require you to get a tech to assist you with this repair.  There are no user replaceable parts inside this TV set.  Good Luck, and let us know how you made out.

Hi Larry, yes i have the

Hi Larry, yes i have the Service Manual and the schematics for my Vs-50803.  I am looking at the Power Board, there is a PCB called the Hot Chassis on this PCB I see AC PS  1, 2, 3.  Am I in the right area?  No rush on this, I still need to purchase a fine tip 30 watt soldering iron and some solder wick.  Do you think I should purchase an isolation transformer while i"m at it?  I think I have a Multi-meter but will need some guidance on how to use.  Of course I will wait on all my purchases until we deduct that it is reparable.  Thanks

Dear Larry Dillon:

Dear Larry Dillon:

Thanks for the advice.  Sadly, nothing seems to help the audio problem.  I can't find any switc on the rear and all the audio settings are correct.  I'll just have to call Samsung service and hope for the best.  At least I can get could sound from the DVD player through the stereo with a direct optical connection.  The unit is a Samsung LN-S2651D, which is a pretty common 26" LCD flat screen TV.
Best,
FlorentineHott

FlorentineHott, did you check

FlorentineHott, did you check the auto mode for the audio, is the internal mute off? Do you have a manual for this unit, as I found it. Get it here
http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/con...

LizR
Dear Mr. Dillon:

Dear Mr. Dillon:

Yes, I did check the auto mode for the audio.  When it is set to internal mute on, there is no sound at all through the TV speakers.  When it is set to mute off, the speakers work but it won't output audio to headphones or any other audio out.  I do have the manual and I can't find anything in it to solve this problem.  I spoke to the fine folks at Circuit City, where I bought it, and they said to take it to a service center.  I still think there is a setting somewhere I don't know about.  Maybe this is a matter of faith.  Thanks for your help.

If you checked all the menu,

If you checked all the menu, you must have a problem then in the audio circuts.  It would not be the first I have heard ( or not heard the TV sound LOL) and will not, I am sure the last.  Let's see what the servicer has to say.  Good luck and PLEASE keep us informed of the progress with this TV.

I have a Panasonic rear

I have a Panasonic rear projection color television system. When I turn it on, the screen has no vertical hold. If I push the R-TUNE button on the remote control, I get a stable picture but the screen appears to have several lines through it just above the middle of the screen. The lines also appear as a bowl affect, also if you turn the units volume control on, the images appear slightly doubled. The television was given to me recently. I have acquired the remote control, shipping bolts and the set, of course but no paperwork or manuals. I am looking for a manual also. The model number is PTP-51885, the chassis # is AEDP807 and was manufacturered October of 1991. Can anyone help me out with this, or should I just call a repairman?.
