Good advise! Take several

Good advise! Take several pictures of your model and I will do an article and give you the Credit for the photos. You can send them if you would take them to [email protected]. One of the chassis where the IC is located, the underside of the chassis and what it looks like after you resolder it with NO shorts. Lol Then the location of the two fuses would be great!

Just finished up replacing

Just finished up replacing the IC8C01 IC and F9A04 and F9A05 fuses. Hit the switch and it fired right up like it use to and just in time for the Belmont Stakes horse race.

Hi Larry - I replaced the 4

Hi Larry - I replaced the 4 DM capacitors, but my 55513 still has the lines across the screen. I read this thread and it looks like another person has issues with the lines across the screen, so wanted to see if you would send the fix document for convergence IC replacement to [email protected]?

when you say lines be a

when you say lines be a little bit more specific please.

Well Larry, life isn't

Well Larry, life isn't feeling so great right now. I replaced the convergence IC again and F9A05. The TV powered up fine but there was no image on the screen. I turned the set off and then hooked up the cable box. Still no image except this time the TV wouldn't let me turn it off from the power button on front. Any ideas on what it could be now?

Things that come to mind are:
-incorrect fuse. Doubt it since its a 5A fast blow from littelfuse.
-loose connection somewhere. Doubt it because I triple checked that all cables were in their proper place.
-Some kind of damage I caused to the PCB while soldering.
-Incorrectly reconnected wires in the TV? Doesn't really seem plausible either considering how specific every connector was.

Tried a system reset. No luck

Tried a system reset. No luck. Curiously the TV did the same thing with the power button. Pressing it worked as an off button the first time but not the second. Maybe the unit is freezing and unable to accept input?

update: Set is working. Some connector got stuck under the chassis when I rolled it back. Felt pretty dumb. Larry, those pictures will be in your email soon.

MUchas gracias.

Larry,  Could I get a copy of the manual for the WT-46809?  I'm going to do some poking around when I get home from work as I'm also getting code 22.

Thanks,
Chris

If you could please email me the manual, instructions on what needs to be replaced and where I can order all the parts I would greatly appreciate it. I am comfortable with soldering and doing micro/min repair I just need the maintenance manual to do it and where to get the parts from. My email is [email protected] Thanks for your help! by the way I have the WS-B55

Larry + Everyone...

Larry + Everyone...

YES !! Thank you so much for all of your help. I was pretty mad/sad/depressed when my TV wouldn't turn on a few weeks ago until I found this post through Google.

I have a WS-65711 that would turn off 3 seconds after turning on. After reading through all of the posts, I ordered the IC8C01, thermal paste and 5A fuses using the links provided by physicist, and downloaded the how to manual Larry provided. It worked !! Everything went exactly according to plan. Just wanted to say thank you.

Larry Dillon
Should have relaced both

Should have relaced both convergence IC's at once!

TVc
Larry,

Larry,

Both?? I only saw one, is there another somewhere else? I have the WS-65711, I think I saw in one of your other posts http://www.techlore.com/forum/thread/18547/Mitsubishi-convergence-IC-s-u... that this model only has 1.

I would like to request a service manual for the Mitsubishi WS-65711 as well as the repair guidance on how to solve the blinking green light/will not turn on problem as well.  Thanks.

Larry Dillon
that manual should be already

that manual should be already uploaded on the service manual page in the technicians corner on the home page under the resources tab and if you cannot find it please ask there in the tech corner for the manual you need please.

hey, i have the same problem.

hey, i have the same problem. error 22. can somebody send me the schematics as to where the problem is located. [email protected], thanks!

The best advice I can tell

The best advice I can tell you at this point is to go to TV repair kits.com and order the complete convergence kit for your model of TV set, click on here please: http://www.tvrepairkits.com/xcart/home.php?partner=larry
no need to search and order multiple parts from different sources and pay multiple shipping fees! The kit comes with original Sanyo STK ICÂ’S , not those cheap aftermarket or china made ICÂ’S full pictorial directions, the thermal paste, resistors, the correct Pico fuses, AND free live on-Line tech assistance in case you run into a problem with the repair. They ship out 2 to 3 day Priority mail, the next day in most cases,

Help! I have a WS65611 with

Help! I have a WS65611 with the green blinking light. I have checked for an error code and it reads 12, which should be ok. I have checked the power comming out of the DM power supply and get 12V on pin 10, 28V on pin 11, which should be ok. What happens when I turn it on is, the green light goes solid, at the same time K9A50 clicks, then in about 3 or 4 secs K9A50 clicks again and the green led on front starts blinking very fast for about 12 secs and the process starts over again. I have checked all the fuses on the power board and main board and DM boards and found them all to be ok. This TV died about 6 yrs ago and i just replaced it without trying to repair, it seemed to be a good excuse to get a plasma at the time. But i would now like to fix it and put it in our bonus room. If you can help me that would be great. Thanks!
Also, the DM module has a sticker that ID's it as a WS-65711, but the TV is a WS-65611.

I need help please... I have

I need help please... I have a 2002 Mitsubishi WS-65711 and it had a cap issue on the small DM board (7Caps) however when that problem was fix there was another issue with the large DM board inside the metal can which cause a few red spots on screen while watching TV from any input.. I replaced the large DM board with another one for now and now the TV comes on and works good but the front panel buttons don't do anything... any helpful hints as the only thing was mess up was the two DM boards. All the cable plugs are plug in correctly and in their right sockets and the picture turns ON/Off and everything works from the REMOTE only and when I put the other DM power board in the front panel buttons work but have the red dots on screen.. Any advise as to where to start??? Thank you,Joe

You could try downloading the

You could try downloading the schematic for that model and try tracing it from he panel back.

I've seen this problem before

I've seen this problem before. Probably a short on the manual button array board in the front of the set. Try removing the speaker grilles and disconnecting the cable leading to the small board having the switches on it. Then use the remote to control the set. If this works, you're in business. Good luck!

glenn357
evil,

evil,
If you were responding to me, i have checked the caps on the DM board and they look fine. Should I replace them anyway?
Thanks!!

evil
It's hard to say without

It's hard to say without proper equipment, you could try taking them out and taking them to a repair shop and let them check it with an esr meter.

glenn357
I replaced the caps and still

I replaced the caps and still have all the same symptoms.  Is there anything else I can do, besides take the dang thing to the dump?

mymslcr1
Sounds like u have a bad ic

Sounds like u have a bad ic convergence chip and a couple of the pico fuses bad. I'll try to find what was bad on mine and send you a list of what to replace. U will have to do some de-soldering on the main board to take the old ic chip out and pico fuses then resolder the new ones in.

evil
You could offer it on your

You could offer it on your local swap and shop or radio and someone will come get it for you, it would save you a trip to the dumP. what is the set doing now when you turn it on?

glenn357
I can hear the relay (K9A50)

I can hear the relay (K9A50) click, the green light goes solid for a couple of seconds, then the relay clicks again, then green light starts to blink. This repeats itself after the green light blinks for about 15 secs. The CRT's never fire up. It's the same as before i put new caps in.

evil
How many times does the light

How many times does the light blink when it blinks for about 15 seconds? It should blink a few times then pause and blink a few more times. That could be an indication of what's wrong with it.
