Thought I better send you another e-mail since I didn't hear back from you. What is the next step? What about the 9 volt regulator in your kit. Could it be anything to do with that? I will wait for your reply...John
Most of the time, this is an indication of a partially pulled out plug or connector. check them all by hand, not by sight, also check all the voltages in the switched and the unswitched power supply. but also do not forget to try removing the DM, take off the metal case around the DM and reseat the DM and try it again, now, don't get inpatient as it takes between 75 to 80 seconds for the light to stop flashing.
Ok, I will go over everything once again. Would it be bad to put it together without the metal casing and screwing it in to make sure it is connected properly??
Larry- I put everything together even with th emetal casing... and I plugged in the tv and turned it on .. and still blinking light.. I left it on for like 3 mins... Nothing.. So I pushed the reset button on the front of the tv and that's when I got the ticking noise.. It was coming from 2 large capactitors in the middle of the bottom tray. It was on the side closest to me from looking into the back of the tv... Any ideas? I think that might be the power supply but I am not sure. Im just learning all of this so please bear with me. I can send you a picture but wasnt sure how to do it on here? Please let me know what you think.
Larry, I checked all connections by hand. Also, I pulled the DM and re-seated it....no luck..still have blinking green light. How do I check the voltages of the switched and unswitched power supply? Where are the components of the switched and unswitched power supply? What should the voltages be. What setting do I need to have my meter on? John
Was the case off of the DM? are you sure it is seated correctly onto the bottom connector? Also are the small white fuses good on the solder side of the DM also all the caps on the DM should be mounted all in the same direction?

I had the case on the DM. I wasnt sure if I was allowed to do it without the case? Am I?
Also, do you have an email address that I can send the pictures to in order to show u how my caps are on and if they are connected good. It did get a reading from the multimeter. and so did the white fuses.. if they were bad, wouldnt it not make any type of reading?
yes you are suppose to take off the case and try it but do not run it that way just plug it in to see if the light stops flashing, if the light goes off after at least 90 secs or so, unplug the set and reinstall the case around the board
Larry you are sooo smart!! I tried it without the case and it worked. Now j just have to put it all together. Thank you so much!!!!!!!! John make sure the motherboard is in properly. Simple as that. Thanks again Larry! I appreciate the help! Kim
no you posted under the wrong model number this thread model has 4 caps yours has seven and if it did not work, check the small fuses on main or the small board. if that does not help check the unswitched power supply going to the DM the block diagram shows this
yes john but use only 4 caps sorry when you said you received 7 caps, I assumed you had a different model have you tried to reseat the DM without the case around the it?The kits are the same except for the number of caps it includes. maybe you got the wrong instructions write to the site and it will be taken care of.
My tv doesn't blink, what happened is that my baby was turning it on and off and then it just stop working, when i turned it on the light stays on for a couple of seconds and then goes off, that is all it does what can i do?
Yes, I did re-seat the DM several times with no luck. The last time I did it I did it without the case...still nothing. As I mentioned in the beginning this all began after a storm one night and it knocked out two of my TVs. Any ideas???? A power surge must of knocked out something....my e-mail address is [email protected]. You mentioned in a earlier e-mail that you would send the manual to me. Thanks for any help or info....John
John, If you have a multimeter and know how to use it to measure DC voltage, first check the standby power supply voltage then the switched voltages. the service manual is on its way, if you find any voltages missing let me know which one it is and I will help you as much as I can Good Luck
Larry
Sorry, I meant the flashing green light of death for the MITS ws-55513. I replaced the caps with 1000uf 35v caps and I still have the blinking light, I was wondering if you had any ideas of what else I could try to get my set up and running again.
big mistake my friend, using radio shack caps will blow out the DM in a matter of weeks, hope it is not too late as the DM is no longer available!! CHange those Radio Shack ASAP!!!!
Did I not send you the instructions? and the service manual?
Larry
I wish I would have read that earlier, the tv worked for two days and now its back to the blinking green light, any chance I didnt just blow out my DM and I can just get the caps to replace the ones I just put in?
it is a possibility guess but most of the time when someone does not listen to free advice it is usually too late!!!!The best advice I can tell you is to go to tvrepairkits.com and order the blinking light kit for your model of set, the kit comes with the high temperature/ high frequency/long life 105 Celsius type capacitors (not those cheap Radio Shack caps) full easy to follow pictorial directions, AND free live on-Line tech assistance in case you run into a problem, all kits are shipped out within 24 hours in most cases, 2 to 3 day Priority mail. GOOD LUCK!!!
Larry Dillon,
Hello John, You are having the same problem I am! Does yours make a ticking noise when you plug it in?
~Kim
Hello Kim,

Larry
Larry,
I took the same easy way and ordered the complete blinking light kit as well that you offered. Is it the kit with the 7 caps or not? John

Larry,
My TV is the WS55513 and I only had 4 caps in my DM but received 7 caps in my kit. Did I get the wrong kit? John
yes john but use only 4 caps sorry when you said you received 7 caps, I assumed you had a different model have you tried to reseat the DM without the case around the it?The kits are the same except for the number of caps it includes. maybe you got the wrong instructions write to the site and it will be taken care of.

I got them from radioshack. Actually I finally got it to work, the DM module was seating properly. Thanks anyway.
