You will have to check the voltage on the vertical output IC, or perhaps a convergence falure is on it's way. Hard call on what causes blanking. Oh one more thing, when the picture goes out, can you pull up the main menu on screen? The fact that the green light stops flashing is an indication that you DID indeed repair the DM board. I would go back into the set and double check that all of the connectors and stand up boards are fully seated. Not just by sight, but by feel.
Help... I have the blinking light issue too on my 55513 can you please send me the repair documents? Hope this works for me like it has for everyone else. [email protected]
Hey Larry, bought the capacitors from the site you said took the dm board out replaced them slightly swollen not too bad though. plugged it back in and same blinking light hit the reset switch and get a constant chirping like a electronic ignition on a furnace. I located the noise and it seems to be coming from either of the two transformers on the power board in the middle, have you any ideas
Jeff, make triple sure that the DM is plugged in all the way into the main board. Best way to tell is to take out the DM, take off the metal case and plug the board into the nain chassis without the metal case. After you see if the green light goes out after a minute, unplug the set and install the metal case. If you do all this and still get a chirp, or the green light still blinks, Check all of the small fuse marked F9A02 through F9A05 on the power supply board.
No Jeff those caps are not leaking. That's silicon glue the factory pus on those caps for mounting and vibration purposes. You have nothing to worry about there. Glad to hear you repaired your TV set.
Larry, First let me thank you again for your help! I havn't opened the set to check for any loose connections yet. You said that I will have to check the voltage on the vertical output IC. Could you explain this process in a little more detail. I did the cap. job with ease but am not a tech by any means. I researched the doc's enough to at least figure out the general area of the ic. Also if a confergance failure is on the way what can I do about that? Also when the screen does go blank I can still bring up the main menu. thanks! ws-65513
Brass, if you can see the main menu when the picture blanks out, I would have to sat then there is a video problem somewhere. I will have to look at the service manual and see what to look for. If you did not see the menu when the picture blanked, I would then say you could have a convergence or vertical problem.
Looks like I am not the only one with this problem as we returned from vacation to find our WS55513 's reset lite (green lite ) flashing and we could not turn on the tv set. IN my case it may be to late for me to repair my set because I let smoeone tell me that they cou d fix it and that was the last that I saw of them and the parts they removed from my tv set. Man do I wish that I had read your info on this problem sooner.
Please email repair instructions as it may not be to late to repair my sisters tv set with the same problem. email to [email protected]
Arekm do you know what was removed from your TV set? Anyway, I will be sending out the repair information as well as the factory service manual to you and to tgorup. Good Luck with the repair.
You and your procedure docs ROCK!!! I got my set repaired this weekend and watched the NASCAR Daytona 500 qualifying in HD. Thanks so much. Below are some pix of my experience. Took about 2.5 hours from start to finish. My set has setteled into the carpet over the past 4 years and I also had to move my audio support rack which weighs just as much as the 400 lb set. Top pic is of the replaced caps. The ones I replaced were clearly bulging in the last pic. Everybody get after this repair as if fixed my "green Blinking Light".
Larry, be on the lookout for the promised support we spoke about. Pete
Great to hear Pete! Glad you fixed your TV set. Don't forget to take off the front screen from the front of the TV set as per the service manual and clean the mirrors and lens. It really makes a world of difference on a lot of These TV sets.
I have the dreaded "green blinking light" on my Mitsubishi WS-65513. There is absolutely no response on my TV at all. From what I have been reading here, it sounds like you can help.
Checked out the capacitors & all 4 have bulbled up on the top. Had a guy check out the fuses & two of them are blown. What do I do if the fuses are blown? They don't look like they can be replaced very eaisly.
We own a WS65513 and I just happened to stumble on this forum a few days ago. Coincidentally, the TV decided to pull the "continuous green blinking light" act yesterday. Could you please send me the repair instructions that you've discussed here to [email protected]. Many thanks in advance.
I have the same blinking green light on my WS-65613. Could you please send me the repair instructions that you've discussed here to [email protected] Thank you so much for the help.

Don
They need to be replaced. Have someone who knows how to solder do the job for you. It really should not take long to do or cost a lot to do also.
MadDog, I will send you the repair information if you leave an e-mail address.
Larry
I have a 55813 with the same problem, would you please send the fix to me?
Is this just a Mits. problem or is it in other brands also.
Thanks, Joe
