Larry Dillon said: That is a CRT ground that someone forgot to reconnect, look at the other CRT boards and see if you can see where those other ones plug into.
I had to take off the front panels to access the area infront of the CRT's where the wire connects. Unfortunatly this did not correct the green light problem. Thanks Larry.
I'm sorry to say I too have the very same issue as everyone else with the green blinking light syndrome on my Mitsubishi TV. Unfortunately, when we moved into our new home three years ago I bought one 65" and two 55". So.... Could you please send me the fix for the WS-65813 for now? Buy the way, I contacted Mitsubishi, they were absolutely not willing what-so-ever to help a customer that has owned a total of four of their TV products. As I mentioned to them...Trouble free products or Customer Service is usually the reason for repeat business. I've owned my last Mitsubishi.
Zolton, I knew already that would not fix your blinking light problem. I never said it would! So please do not assume that! But most Ilikely following the repair documents will. You simply asked about a floating wire and I told you how to find out where it goes.

Larry, thanks for you help with the wire. I didn't intended to imply you said it would fix the problem. I was only hoping.
I can't help but think the lose wire might have caused a short on the main board. The set worked prior to the move and i can't imagine the CRT would worked without the wire connected. Therefore the wire must have fallen off during the move. Its bare end was resting accross several resistors. That can't be good.
Unbeleiveable how many people have this problem with thier sets. When I called Mitsubishi they acted like they never heard of this.
No problem. The ground wire could have been off for a long time. Who knows. The capacitor problem will show up most of the time after a working set is unplugged and moved or looses power and the power is restored because the DM is always on. like when a light bulb blows out most of the time when you turn on the wall switch.
Received the documents and did the cap change. Plugged the set in and the green light on the front continues to blink and no change from before I installed the new capacitors. Hit the reset button and no change.
Suggestions? Ideas ? This is on a 2004 WS-48513 Mitsubishi.
Yes, a common problem. Unplug the TV set and take out the DM board again. Take off the shield from around the DM board. Install the DM without the shield and make sure the connectors are seated correctly with the connectors on the main board. Then install the sheild.
Thanks but it was installed without the shield the first time. Followed the handout and did it that way to make sure that it worked before fussing with the shield.
Do you feel that the connectors are not all making a good connection right now? I can remove and re-seat the board.
Also during this process what do you do with the grounding copper do-hickys? The one on the "outside" of the board I had to insulate with some paper so that it did not touch the bottom (soldered side) of the circuit board and assume that its not touching anything. There are two others on the very back (aft side of the TV) and I touched one of them to the frame of the board (without the cover on) to ground it as it would be when the cover is installed. Is this correct?
Larry Dillon said: Yes, that is correct. Have you checked the surface mounted fuse on the board yet?
Larry,
No I have not, just followed the instructions in the handout.
Is the fuse located on the same board as the capacitors? Is it like a car type fuse or what should I look for? If its bad is it something that Radio Shack would have?
They are marked on the solder side of the DM board. And No , They are not car fuses so they do not look like car fuses. The fuse are white small rectangles, with yellow lettering marking them right on the solder side of the DM. They will have continuity across them. Or in other words measure zero resistance.
It seems you are the only one that can possibly help me with my tv..I too have that damn blinking light and it won't go away. I have a WS-65513 and would very much appreciate the info on how to fix this problem. I also wanted to know where I can get the caps and how much. My husband does know how to solder so hopefully he can get it done..Thank you so so much..
No I'm afraid this is a volunteer type help site. I have been a repair person for 40 years and have loads of experience and like to help peeps save tons of cash, which by the way you will be saving about a grand or so if this works for you. They are on their way to you. And good luck with your repair.
No it really is not that hard to repair. Just follow the directions and he should be fine. Maybe you know some friend or relitive who can assist you all. It would certainly be worth you to make someone full with th a dinner or a meal as payment for their help with this. Ask around if he is not sure of himself with this.
