I have sent the information to Ted, Gerry, Pat, and koob. If you do not know how to solder or think this will be too involved for you, play it safe and call in a pro to assist you with this repair. Good Luck
Delman, I tried to send it to you but it cam back as a bad e-mail address.
Larry Dillon said: If you are handy, and can solder, you may be able to save about 700 bucks if not more. There is a very common problem with these Mitsubishi TV sets. There is a digital board inside these puppies called the DM board. A lot of times there are four capacitors that go bad inside of these TV sets. Sometimes, depending on how bad the capacitors are, and if the capacitors did not blow out anything else on the Dm board, you can simply replace these four capacitors and this will fix your TV set. The average that this works on is about 65 to 70 % of the sets can be repaired with this fix. The others are power supply issues or the DM board has other issues. If you would like to attempt to repair your TV set, I will send you the instructions on how to do so. If you do not know how to solder well, do not attempt to replace the capacitors yourself. Pay a pro to do this for you. After all you are already saving a bundle of cash. Leave an e-mail address, and I will forward you the fix with and without the light engine. And if the capacitors inside the board are not swollen on the tops, as the direction shows you what they look like, the capacitors are most likely not your problem.
Larry, my TV showed all the signs that everyone has been talking about in this tread. Can you please send your document to the following address: [email protected]. I have the back of the TV apart, but I want to look at your pictures and see if the capacitors are really bad.
stebinroy, I do not think the VS models have the DM board in them. I am not sure, I lost all of those older model numbers due to a fire. It would be an interesting thing to find out. If you get the manual, please let me know.
Yes I received the documents larry thankyou again.
I replace the four electrolytic capacitors on the DM board but no change still blinking led, I even the a conunity check of the four fuses on the DM board they are okay.
worm, you will need to make sure there are no other swollen capacitors on the other boards. Also if your able, look on the schematic and see if the voltage are correct going into the DM board. Sometimes the capacitors will mess up the incoming voltage supply from the main power supply. Check voltage in the DM board also. I have also heard that the shield will short against something. Double check all of the wiring harnesses for loose plugs.
Hey I have a WT-42315 with the same problem. Do you instructions for it like for the above probs as well? If you do, pls send them to [email protected]. Thanks a bunch!
shams, your set does not use the DM board. What are your symptoms? If the set is dead or a blinking light, there is probably bad capacitors in the power supply or maybe even the sweep power supply. Look for swollen tops on the capacitors in these two circuits, Good Luck
When the tv is plugged in, the timer light come on solid for about 2 seconds, then it blinks for about 2 more and then goes off. I can here I faint high-frequency sound coming out of the tv when its plugged. I do not know where the power supply/sweep power supply circuits are and cannot find schematics online anywhere. You couldn't tell me where to find them in the tv, could you? Thanks!
Ok, I replaced the capacitors. All four were bulged out at the top. I got everything put back together and still have the green light problem. Any ideas, or is it time take the TV somewhere? Also could you send me the instruction manual that you keep sending out to everyone. I would like to take a look at it. My TV is a Mistubishi WS-65613. Thanks [email protected]
I have the WS-55513 Mitsu. It is having the same green light blinking problem. I have tried the Reset button, and it doesn't work. I also tried holding the Menu button down for 10 seconds and that doesn't work.
Could you please send me the info/instructions on how to repair it. [email protected]
