Receivers and Audio Components

When I use the Tuner each station I change to says it is 'muting'. Only when I press the ST/Mute button can I get sound. Why do I need to do this, it never used to, so how do I canel whatever has happened?

I've lost the instruction manual and would appreciate help

It is a Sony Remote-controlled Compact Hi-Fidelity Stereo System   LBT-D117

My Koss home stereo has a 3 cd player.  Seems like the trouble started after I hit "random".  Now it only plays certain songs off of each cd no matter what cd I put in.  For example...Only the 2nd, 4th and 6th songs are played on each cd.  Am I stuck in random or a program installed by the previous owner to only play selected tracks?  Koss tells me they no longer make stereos, (of this type, that is), so a manual isn't available.  Need help getting out of wherever I am, please.

Just purchased a Sony receiver and am having a real hard time keep the speaker wires attached to the receiver.  It looks like they might take a banana plug or other type plug.  Does anyone know what the best adapter is?
