Video Playback / Recording Devices

Hello,
I have a Sylvania Dual DVD & VCR player MODEL DVC860D I just bought a brand new DVD movie "Casino". I got half way through the movie and it froze up. My kids said that it does this on all the other DVD's also. How can I fix this problem? Since this happens to other DVD's it would seem to me that it is the machine not the disc's. Is it getting to hot inside the player? What exactly is the problem, it seems that I have read that a lot of people are having this same problem but know one has said how to fix it.

I have a panasonic sc-ht680 5 disk am/fm home theater, the problem is that my daughter forced the trays in and threw them out of time. Now all the trays dont eject fully to remove the disk and I think one of the gears slipped time to cause this problem. I see no damage to any of the internal working of the mechanism. Any help with gear location to tray location timing would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I put a "Family Guy" DVD in my Denon player early today. The player could read and play the DVD without any problem. The Denon is about three or four years old and was top-of-the-line when I purchased it (able to play super audio CDs, etc). The Family Guy DVD stayed in the player all day long spinning. When I cam home the Denon had shut itself off and when I turned it back on it could not read the DVD. I put the DVD into my computers (I have a Mac and a Windows XP) and they could read it fine. The Family Guy DVD is one disk of a series.
