Video Playback / Recording Devices

Sound is quite intermitent on my  Cable HD channels. Also there's a small pixilated horrizontal line that comes and goes. It does it on all HD channels. No problems watching regular channels. The cable box is a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3250HD and my receiver is a Yamaha RX-V800. The cable box is one shelf above the receiver. I've heard that a too close receiver can cause interference with the box. Thought I'd ask, before I unplug all the cables. Any advice much appreciated.

Tried to watch a DVD and the screen on the TV was completely blue with "no signal" at the bottom of the screen. We have not done anything to the any of the components since the last time we played a DVD. Cleaned the DVD player-no better. Unpluged the TV from the outlet, no change. Bought new DVD player-no change. Is the TV shot? It works just fine for regular cable channels. SR

I recently bought a DVD player/recorder. I've tried to install it. I must have the connections wrong. I'm not sure how to find an installer in my area (Las Vegas) to come and install it for me.

I also need to find someone who can also figure out TV/ etc remotes. Currently I have to use 3 or 4 seperate remotes in the bedroom to operate the TV, Cable boc, and VCR/DVD player..

Any suggestions????
