Sony handycam does not play back well on TV

I have a CCD-TRV37 sony Handycam camcorder that uses 8 tapes.the camra records fine and plays back fine on the attached LCD screen, but when I hook it to the TV to playback the picture comes scrumbled and not clear, audio however is fine. I used different  V/A cables with no change. it does not have S video out put, put there is an output marked RFU DC out. could this be a programing problem in the camra, or is it a bad output. I have many tapes that I want to play back and record on DVDs. Any advice on how to salvage them. Thanks

Home Theater dvr recordings to dvd recorder

I have cable with the dvr. I have recorded a number of shows and want to edit out the ad's and record them to my dvd recorder. The dvr scrambles the signal and I know Best Buy use to sell the box for around 30 bucks but they do not stock them now. How can I record from my dvr to my dvd recorder while watching it on my tv to edit it?

Thanks,

pleazzer

Recording from Guide Plus ends early

When I press 'record' whilst viewing Guide Plus, the HDD starts and ends at a certain time but not when the programme actually starts and finishes. Eg tonight it started 30 secs b4 prog and ended 30secs b4, so I missed the last bit. Why is this and can it be changed? Do they all do this (I'm thinking of buying a Panasonic instead).

(Product is Sony DVD recorder with 160GB hard drive HXD890).

 Thanks, Kirsity.

Connecting DVD and VCR to old tv

Have just installed a  Sony RDR-HXD 890 160GB DVD Recorder with freeview. Amazingly it works and I've even overcome the initial b and w only display.

Here's the setup:

- aerial input from wall to digital in

- aerial from digital out to analog in

- aerial from analog out to tv in (old Ferguson tv)

Have added a scart lead from Line 3 to AV 1 on tv.

Combining video files

First of all, I want to thank Brandon C. for the great article on combining mpeg files using the DOS copy command.  This is a follow up question to that, and perhaps the general community here can offer me some assistance.

I used the copy command and successfully combined two video files. But after doing so, I noticed the following:

Problem DVD/VCR combos

I have recently bought two DVD/VCR combos. One was the Samsung DVD-VR357, and the one I bought today is the Toshiba D-VR610. They both have exhibited the same problem. When a DVD or VCR is playing, the t.v. picture flashes on and off in about one second flashes. They also did this when hooked up to my computer. Is there anything that I can do to fix it??
