INCREASING NUMBER OF CHANNELS

We have a portable Emerson tv, model ECR1350.  Is there a way to changeout the tuner chip to increase the number of viewing channels?

hitachi 46ux12b sound but no picture

This set has been working for years and last night the screen went black but the sound was still functioning.

 Are there any simple (fuses, boad swaps, etc.) answers or do I need to let a technician do the work?

First off, I'm new here and it appears there's some really sharp people here.  I'm very knowledgable of household electricity and automotive electrical systems, but my knowledge of electronics has been pretty much limited to replacing visibly damaged components and my father's vacuum tube teachings are just a bit outdated.

 I was watching my rca tv model#f27227fm and the picture just went together and met in the middle of screen and cut off and I have'nt been able to turn it back on so I open the back of it and fuse was blown I replaced fuse still nothing  I think it is the light bulb thing that is on the screen looks as if there is some black coloring on one little side,is this my picture tube and is it worth fixing?

got a problem tv comes on put no picture or sound. got any ideas what it could be ?

when the tv comes on it starts with coulour going through the screen then after a while there are blocks of yellow and white from top to botom.

Intermittent Picture

I have a Mitsubshi VS4552 rear-projection TV that has sound but the picture will be on and then disappear for awhile, then come back on, etc. etc.  Any ideas as to what the problem may be?
