Television and Home Theater

Two year old Sony shuts down after brief blast of high voltage and sound. Push power button twice and process repeats. After shutdown, get five blinks from standby LED. Do not have a schematic. Have only recently discovered this site. Impressed with troubleshooting advice. Any suggestions?        C-nut

 after a wild deer hunt came home to watch the news on tv ,, turned it on SANYO ds25320 it came on i watched the news for about ten minutes and the tv turned off by its self no sound no picture no nothing ,what could it be about a year old or so bought at wall mart ,will not turn on ,has been fine all along ,no kids in house ,so im lost as to why is it done for ,burnt up or what what about warrenty ,who to fix ,is there ,a circuit breaker ?

i have a philips 42" plasma model Philips 42PF5520D /10 the problem is the tv comes on and picture is perfect, after a few mins the picture fades and go's of. if i unlug tv for a short time then plug it back in and turn it on it does the same again. anyne got any ideas to problem and is it worth getting fixed cheers carl
