Television and Home Theater

Turn power on and I get a "clonk" sound and the set then imediatly
shuts down. Replaced C840 after the power rectifier right before ic
L78MO5 which is the standby and hold circuit. Also replacedL78MO5. It worked fine until I
powered down and let it sit for an hour. When I then power up the "clonk"
and deadness happens all over again.  Please HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got this Sony KP-51HW40 projection tv so I don't know anything about it.

The problem is that the red is not sharp.  When I do the auto focus for the convergence there is a red cast around the white convergence x in the center of the screen.  On the sides and the top of the screen there are boxes which appear which I believe to be the color of the tube which the set is working with at the time.  The green and blue boxes are crisp.  The red boxes are blurry.

No picture but the on and off button light is on when you plug it in the on and off button does not work.
