Television and Home Theater

I have a samsung tv rear projection HDTV model number PCN5425R. I ordered part number BP95-00415B. This is a convergence module and can anyone that knows how to convert it please help me out.

I recently purchased a older Philips TV (PA5032C102) from a trade show company.  It is in very good condition, however, I cannot figure out how to get it out of commecial mode.   The remote cannot call up a menu to do that.  I was told there is a sequence that needs to be done with the basic controls in front of the TV. (ie. up volume, down channel...)

All the remote can do is turn on the tv and turn up and down the volume and in the corner of the screen it says "VHS"

I have a Phillips 32 inches TV it's not too old about 4-5 yrs old it has great picture but recently no sound. Sometimes the sound would come back for a short while then off again. I this something I can troubleshoot myself or should I pay a tech $125.00 to fix it?
