Television and Home Theater

Ok first off;

 Model:  Toshiba 61H70

Chassis No.   TAC  0068

Manufactured Date 2000

 Ok I bought the tv in 2001  and have had it for 5 years no problems at all.

Turned it on yesterday and the screen was all wavey like the vsinc was messed up except all the colors were missalined and such.

So i turned it off found and purchased the Service manual and Schematics for 17 bucks.

1993 27'' Mitsubishi....when turning tv on, white flickering lines flashes horizontaly with snow as well, and when flickering sound snaps out of speakers. When warm enough it stops but it keeps getting worst for the past 6 months. Now it can take up to an hour before the flickering and snapping sound stops. Opened up the back, cleaned everything up very carefully with small paint brush to get all the dust out, but in vain. Are some solid connection loose? Should I just get rid of it.

I purchased a 38" RCA widescreen HD TV model F38310YX5 in Nov 2002.  It recently shut off and smelled hot and would not turn back on.  After taking it to the television repair shop, I was told that the two parts needed (part #248598 High voltage block and part #250789 Fly Back)were no longer available.  I called RCA and was given a case number and told to look on internet for parts because they had none available.  In shopping for a new television, I was informed that this is a common problem with RCA and that it was thought that they had a class action suit against
