Television and Home Theater

I have an older Mitsubishi Big Screen Model # VS-5062 that until recently worked great. Everything still works fine, but now the volume is stuck to almost a whisper...Doesn't matter if I use the remote or the control panel on the front of the tv...the bar that relates to the volume that appears on the tv goes up and down, but the actual sound doesn't get louder or softer....I would like to know if there is a way to fix it, or at least manually turn it up to a louder volume.....HELP!!!

I have a Samsung DLP.  I believe the model number is 5063.  I have only had this unit a little over a year and a half and don't use it that much.  When I use it on high-def channels, the picture is perfect but when I switch to analog channels the picture has a black vertical stripe down the middle, splitting the picture into two, and the picture halves are reversed (the right side of the picture is on the left side of the screen and vice versa).  Like I said, the high-def picture is perfect so I don't know what it could be so any help would be greatly appreciated

when switched on tv fired up ok ,but has no picture or sound,but there is ht present,there is no remote or front panel fuctions.any idears of fault.
