Television and Home Theater

Hi - I have a Sony Trinitron 20" KV-2062R (model from around 1989). Color finally gave up - now mostly pink with green ring. I've had similar problem fixed twice; once when picture completely went black and once when corner went green. Each time I was charged over $100 for a tech to change a couple little pins in the top left corner inside back. I am not a tech, but they were little tiny glass tubes with wires sticking out the bottom. I think they were fuses of some sort. I know that I could replace these myself if I just knew what to buy.

For the past month my 42" Rear Projection TV has been giving me problems . The color has been fading and the center of the screen shows an off color that progresses outward towards the edges . When the screen is supposed to be blue the center is yellow progressing to green then to blue on the edge of the screen . I am wondering if this could be caused by a bad lamp . When watching programs the tint seems to be green . I have tried to adjust the color and tint nothing works . Could it be something such as a pigment tube . I am a LCD rear projection tv virgin , the tv is 2yrs old .

My widescreen developed this blue horizontal arch through it and then it stopped powering up all together. It powersup for 2 or 3 seconds then shuts down. Please if any one could offer suggestions on how to fix. I live in South Africa and I need to be well informed before I let a tv repairman look at it over here. I bought it in LA in 2003. Thanks
