Television and Home Theater

My Mitsubishi WS-65613 stopped working the other day. The green light would only blink off and on.  I tried to hold down the menu & device button to see if it would give an error code. It did not. After checking your site, I seen where this was a common problem that usually took only 4 capacitors to replace the bulging one. I got the capacitors, and soldered them in. I still had the same problem. A TV repairman came to the house and wanted to replace two circuit boards. (700.00) He tried this and it did not correct the problem.

Need HELP. My set made a loud knocking noise and when I went to see what it was the pic and color was distorted. The colors were green and purple and the set was making a loud humming sound. I had one shop tell me it was the color wheel. He didn't see it in person. I just talked to him on the phone. Is this something I could replace myself. The repair shop said $1800 to fix but I see the part is $130?????????????

I could use some help on my blinking green light problem i am pretty handy and i want to give this a shot anything you can e mail me, that would be great this is for my mother inlaw that thinks i can do anything, she does not even have a owers manual.
