Television and Home Theater

I have a hitachi tv/vcr combo, and the vcr won't work. I have this thing torn apart, but I can't figure it out. there is a timer light that is blinking I just wonder does this have anything to do with it and do you have any suggestions. this combo is a 1993. please help I got to get this thing back into a home.

Hey guys alright so the problem is I have a sony kp-57ws500 that two chips on the motherboard or whatever you may call it, have burned up so I was wondering two things. 1) what would be the best place to buy a replacement?  2) Would this be a job that I could do myself or with a little help ( i know my way around a computer and a lot of electrical things)? just wondering if its a hard job to replace the motherboard?

hello, i am new to the site and looking for advice on repairing my faulty lcd. the tv is a philips 17in. PF 4310. Recently the screen has not been working properly. we are getting a series of coloured lines running from top to bottom of the screen on the right hand side, the lines run from the extreme right hand side to about 6 cms into the screen. this sometimes changes from coloured lines into a black block down the same area. the tv is unfortunately out of warranty but is only a couple of years old. does this sound repairable or am i realistically looking at a new tv
