Old Mitsubishi Picture Tube TV remote programing??

My mother-n-law gave away an old CS-2610RC Mitsubishi TV.  She has lost the guide and the person she gave it to can not get it to receive all the channels.  I tried the auto programing of the remote, but it gets 27 channels them goes to snow as it cycles through.  Her nephew played with the remote and cause this to only get the 27 now, as it use to get about 50 or so, up through 57 on the channel indicator.  I tried to enter a known higher station manually but the same snow result.  Any ideas out there??  Thanks in advance.

Convergence Sony

I have a KP-53XBR300 and yesterday it made a little clicking/popping sound and then the convergence for red was off. Green and blue are still perfect but red is shifted to the right. I tried the flash focus w/o success and then followed Larry's great description how to work in the service mode. However, I may have missed how to switch the colors - I can converge the green (it looks like it's smack center) but I can't get to red or blue. Any suggestions? Thanks: Joerg :)

ProScan Help!

My trusty old ProScan TV will not turn on.  When I use the remote, or when I press the button on the TV, it comes on and goes off immediately.  It does that three times each time I try to turn it on...on - off - on - off - on - off.  If I keep it plugged in, it will "snap" or "pop" sometimes several times, other times just once.  I unplugged it and left it that way for 24 hours, but it still does the same thing.  New TV time???  Any help out there?

Sony KP-46WT510 *updated* lense focus/convergence problem

Hi everyone!

Stumbled across this site while looking up the problem with my tv KP-46WT510, red is off to one side, will not converge, not temperature dependant.  Does someone have a copy of the service manual for this tv?  (i have pando) if so could you send a copy to me at SupaflyRT at Yahoo dot ca?

So far i've attempted to re-solder the convergance ic's incase there was a bad solder, but no effect.  Checked fuses, all measure ok.  I've ordered new ic's STK-392-560, hopefully they're here soon.

Televisions and projectors

I have a Panasonic Model CT-36G24A Chassis No. AP332. The horazontal hold compresses down to approx. 3 inches and then drifts back to a full screen after tapping on the front control panel. Sometimes the picture remains normal for extended period of time. Does anyone know anything about this problem? Cold solder joints, dirty pots, service adjustment etc.

Shock hazards?

I'm about to embark on a repair project for my Sony KP-43HT20.  I am familiar with working on power amplifiers for instruments and I know that there are capacitors in those amps that can contain lethal voltages--even after the amp is unplugged.

Wary of getting fried by my TV, can anyone tell me if the TV contains any components which store dangerous charges AFTER the unit is unplugged?  If so, any tips on draining or discharging those voltages would be appreciated!
