Hey all, I'm working on my old WS 65909 projection TV, I'm going to keep repairing this until I die! I've done the power supply and convergence chip replacement, so I am qualified in componet repair.... just not an expert repair person. Problem is that the picture keeps dropping out, set stays on with audio. The horizontal output transistor (Q5A31) checks out to be bad, and that may be my problem. But I also found two on the DBF board that I don't know what they do (Q5K00, Q5K01). Can anyone tell me what the DBF board does?

After a bad thunderstorm yesterday, I found that my TV would not work. When you press the power button the light comes on then turns right back off after a couple of seconds. I got the keyboard to give me an error code of 2-1. 

That is where my ability to diagnose TV issues ends. I have read similar posts and gathered an idea of what may be wrong, but I want to be sure of my exact situation. I'm worried about tearing into the TV and messing with the wrong parts or ordering unreturnable parts I can't use.

Any and all help would be appreciated!

While I was in the hospital last week with a nasty infection on my leg last week we had a bad storm that messed up our tv. This is the second time this has happened to the unit. Last time after shopping a few days hoping to find a bargain I decided to plug it in and was shocked to hear a click and it went back to doing its job as if nothing ever happened. I thanked The Lord and haven't had any trouble since. I'm on a very limited income so I'm  trying to avoid going though a process of elimination, plus In the past I have wasted perfectly good parts by using that technique.

I could use some help fixing my Sony 9 blink problem please.

Ok, I've searched and found this thread http://www.techlore.com/forum/thread/17503/KP-46WT520-9-Blinks/?page=10&... which explains my issue but I have another problem. When taking out the G board I had trouble pulling the ANT GRD cable and pulled the male end right off the board with it. My questions are is this connection necessary and what does it do? What do I call the piece I pulled out from the board and can a new one be purchased? Thanks for any help you can provide.

This set will attempt to come on but won't. I hear an arching sound coming from the back of the set. It again tries to come on and then again an arching sound. It will then cut off completely.
