Television and Home Theater

I have a mitsubishi reare projection 55513.  It has worked well for a couple years, now the entire screen is wavy.  I changed inputs, and no matter the picture source, it is wavy.  the waves are horizontal in appearance.  The only thing i have noticed is that sometimes my family will turn off cable box at night so tv is black, and not turn off tv power.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

I own a two year old sony 57ws655 tv that is blinking 9 blinks on the standby light.  After reading on other forums about same problems the repair was to replace D6116 and D6301 diode on the G board.  I ordered and received the diodes from partstore.com.  I have removed the G board and can locate D6301 diode but can't find D6116.  What the sent me looks like a 1/8 by 1/8 piece of plastic.  It has no wires on it to solder to the board.  am I missing something or did they send me the wrong part.

Would this classify as a burned resistor. My tv would not turn on. The led on the front kept blinking 3 times. I removed the back and looked at the resistors, noticed that this one was considerable darker than the others. Does this look like a burned resistor to anyone?
