Sony SXRD XBR 4 blink error

I'm experiencing the 4 blink error code on my Sony KDS-R60XBR1. Both fans were running

slow, and they were replaced. They still ran slow and I've still got the same error. I noted

the fans are 12 volts, but I have only 5.7vdc under load. Are these fans variable speed, or

should be at full speed all the time? Is this a power supply problem or something worse?

Could someone direct me to the 12 source, or point me in the right direction?

Hi all. This plasma was given to me. I'd like to try and fix it myself. The tv powers on. The best I can describe the symptoms is the screen looks fuzzy and the colors are all psychedelic. I opened it up and the only thing I noticed was two (out of 4) bulging high voltage capacitors on the power supply board. They're the large 1'' 450V kind. Could this cause my problems above? If so I'll try and replace them. Any particular brand cap I should get so this doesn't happen again. Thanks for any insight.

I found this foram searching to solve me big screen problem, convergence or better known as distorted picture colors not alighned. I read the blog and thought it made sense , was willing to try parts were only 50bucks online. took out the ic's and found the blow fuse as stated, again this all makes sense. ordered parts, installed, cleaned up all other boards , crossed fingers, turned on and hit auto focas andddddd you guys were great. p.s. first t.v. repair i have done boared level repair before but u guys were write on. changed convergence chips, still have a problem.

alright, so i was given an akai pth-5498. i know akai isnt a wonderful company, but i couldnt pass up a free tv. anyhow, the convergence chips were bad. so i replaced them, i can now move the red all around, but blue is still stuck and my screen is still slightly bowed. all the resistors look good that sit behind the heat sink, and the 2 picos that sit under the fins apear good, but i dont have a meter to test them, so should i just replace the blue one? what else should i look for? any help is appreciated.
