Television and Home Theater

I have been reading about this pblm. It just happened. Someone said there were fuses on the convergence board. Can I replace these myself without a tech and where in the heck IS the convergence board? The TV is at least 7 yrs old

my tv is SONY WEGA KV-27FV17<--------is this set safe to be degaussed???

to clearifly my issue
my tv screen is a bit messed up. words on screen has a pink shawdow, and it is much more pronounced at the top and bottom. then there are darkened areas on screen, also, the bottom of the screen would wave left and then right and then left slowly consistently with one another (i knew the right bottom waved before i degaussed it, didn't check left side)...discoloration at the corners as well.

i have a question and im hoping to get some help.
i have a 24 inch rca model number 24V510T and my remote is broken but now i cant even get a universal to work with it and i passworded when u turn it on cause of my kids now i cant even remove or type in password.

help please
