problems with jvc customer support

i recent purchased (3days ago) 56 inch hdtv d-ila. i have no video at all except for green screen and horizontal lines that move across screen. i called jvc tech support ( i hour wait) and they said there was something wrong with t.v i contacted local authorized jvc repairmen. he stated that due to distance to my house (35 miles) and that jvc did not pay him enough to come that far he would not come(he stated that he would come if jvc reimbursed for travel and time).

jvc hd56g786 d-ila problems

hi ,this is my first post . i recently bought new jvc 56 inch dila (lycos) tv i got it out of the box and waited for directv installer to bring my new hdtv receiver, every thing was fine for about 6hours then the tv would make a pop and green screen came on with horizontal lines would come on (audio was o.k.) then it would revert back to normal picture. i called directv and had installer come back this morning thinking it might be receiver, he turned on t.v. and the green screen was back, he hooked another t.v to the receiver and it was o.k. has any had this problem before?

blackout bummers

Yesterday I moved my TV to the other side of my apt. After doing so I realized that my surge protector would reach the TV anymore, I desperatly wanted to watch the OC and figured I could just plug it into the wall temporarily( with an extension cord that is not a surge protector). So go figure, a few hours later I go to use the microwave and lose power. After I turned the power back on everything works, except my TV. The odd thing is that the VCR and the Sat Dish reciever both still work and they are plugged into the same place. The poor Phillips TV from like 1996 just wont turn on.

Can't get the resolution I'm looking for

TV gurus...

I have a MediaCenter PC hooked to my Samsung 46" DLP TV via a DVI-I-to-HDMI cable, and am experiencing the following frustration...

The TV is perfectly happy accepting 800x600x60Hz resolution or even 1280x720x60Hz (or something like that -- though I don't like the way the font looks, but not a technical issue). However, what I'd really like to do is set it to set it to 1024x768, but that totally messes up the picture.

Instead of the crisp clear monitor-like image I see at 800x600, it's like two images are overlaid and offset vertically.

rca model#25gt505 chassis#167e

Problem with the set is that it goes into high valtage shutdown. I disengaged the shutdown circuit so that the set can turn on.With the set operating i have sound but no brightness, turning up the screen voltage all the way i have a dim raster. All the d.c. voltage from the power supplies are normal.I subsituted another chassis and the crt and yoke check out ok.I beleave the problem is the flyback transformer being an expensive part the customer will not go for repair. Has any one out there have this problem with this model? I may be missing something.
