blackout bummers

Yesterday I moved my TV to the other side of my apt. After doing so I realized that my surge protector would reach the TV anymore, I desperatly wanted to watch the OC and figured I could just plug it into the wall temporarily( with an extension cord that is not a surge protector). So go figure, a few hours later I go to use the microwave and lose power. After I turned the power back on everything works, except my TV. The odd thing is that the VCR and the Sat Dish reciever both still work and they are plugged into the same place. The poor Phillips TV from like 1996 just wont turn on. Is there any hope for the big guy? Is there anything I can do to fix it?
