Sony Trinitron Keeps Shutting Down

Hi folks - first time poster here.

Got your basic 32" Trinitron maybe 8 years old. Started shutting itself off about a year ago. We would just turn it back on and it was good for a couple days. Then the frequency intervals progressively shortened up. Now it shuts itself off about every 10 minutes when it is warmed up. Sears guy came and fiddled with it, but affected no change despite some line of BS.

Sugestions?

Thanks, David

projection TV problem

The picture is fine on my tv but the sound only works on channel 3. every other station has a noise similar to when the cable goes out. Even though channel 3 works fine when I switch to the dvd player it has an awful sound also. any suggestions?

Old tv hook-up to cable

Attempting to make an old small b&w tv useful on a cable tv line. I thought all I needed was a splitter, but only get a few stations. Do I need something that will cost more than a new cheap tv? Thanx

Sony RP TV CRT replacement

Hi,

I have a Sony projection TV (model #KP57Ws500) and it needs picture tube replacement (Red CRT) according to a Sony certified technician. The total repair will cost me around $460 (part & labor). If I get the part, can I easily replace the CRT myself or does it require a technician to do that?

If you have any information on how to replace the CRT, could you kindly forward it to me for my reference? I would greatly appreciate your prompt response. Thanks.
