Sony Trinitron Keeps Shutting Down

Hi folks - first time poster here.

Got your basic 32" Trinitron maybe 8 years old. Started shutting itself off about a year ago. We would just turn it back on and it was good for a couple days. Then the frequency intervals progressively shortened up. Now it shuts itself off about every 10 minutes when it is warmed up. Sears guy came and fiddled with it, but affected no change despite some line of BS.

Sugestions?

Hey I have a 20" Trinitron about 5-6 years old mine keeps doin it to only sometimes every minute its really annoyning

I've fixed some of these in

I've fixed some of these in the past with this problem...they shut off because of bad solder connections. The fix is to resolder a lot of connections on the circuit board. Don't try this unless you are pretty good at soldering and be careful not to make an solder bridges (shorts). If you do make a solder bridge it can be very hard to find. If you do get solder across two points that should'nt be connected remove it with solder braid...you can get it from radio shack.
