Toshiba TV - Analogue & Scart Input Black & White

I have just bought a new Toshiba TV with built in digital reciever.
When I switch to the analogue input and search for normal antenna
stations every station it finds appears in black and white on screen. I
have read the manual from back to front but can not find any menu
setting that will fix this problem. It is the same when I connect a VCR
via scart. Again the picture is black and white. Can anyone help?

tv clarity via direct cable vs. hook up through box

just got a sony wega sxrd 50....,

when i hook up the cable directly to the TV...i get very good picture quality except it don't get hdtv (supposedly) which i need either via a box (i have) or a cable card.

i hook up cable through the box to the tv..., and the hdtv stations are very crystal clear; UNFORTUNATELY, the remainder normal channels (including digital) are not as clear... (example: fox new channel...the filler screens at bottom are not as clear or one sees fuzziness at edges of bodies in contrast to backgrounds)..

We have a Magnavox 21" TV it's aprox 3 yrs old.  Recently the volume wacked out.  It's almost like it half muted.  Even on the highest volume of 10 we can hear it but it's more like a volume of 4-5 level.  I've played with the remote buttons for hours trying different combo's trying to get the volume back to normal but nothing has worked.
