Accessorize! Your Guide to Must-Have Gaming Accessories

The gaming world’s come a long way since the days my brother and I used to battle it out on our Playstation. Looking back, I’m glad we never bought too many accessories for our dinosaur consoles – the Sega Mega Drive, the original Nintendo Console, and the original Playstation. Why, you ask? Well, the accessories of yesteryear just don’t compare to the vast range of add-ons available today.

Is Microsoft Dumping the 360 for Newer Models?

Microsoft just announce in a the price drop for 360 hardware. As of today Microsoft the Premium will fall $50 to $350, the Core will fall $20 to $280, and the Elite will see a $30 price reduction to an even $450.

Now there is rumor that HDMI will probably be included in all boxes. A new version of the Core and Premium hardware is supposed to be released late this month or September and will include an HDMI port.

It’s also expected that this new hardware will feature the 65nm process for the CPU and quieter DVD drives.

The new hardware will ship in boxes very similar to what we saw on store shelves now, but there will be a small “call out” on the box so you know you’re getting a system with the HDMI connection.

Wii: Gaming Genius or Fitness Fad?

In the day following a report of stellar earnings, Nintendo's stock soared, rocketing it to a lofty, new position as Japan's fifth largest company by market value. That's right; Mario and Pokemon are worth more than Honda Motors. That's a little scary, but illustrates something that's been on my mind lately. Will Nintendo's seemingly golden touch last?

XBOX 360: More Than Just Gaming

The XBOX 360 can do so much more than allow you to play games, touting abilities that go far beyond the gaming aspect. It can give you the ability to watch next-generation HD-DVDs with the add-on HD-DVD drive, view webcams so you can talk to your friends online, and download games, trailers, demos, and play music and videos from many different sources.

Are You locked Out?

There are so many requests from users who visit TechLore.com asking how to unlock a V-chip or a parental lock on a TV set, game console, or other device. I'm sure you've been there; your son, daughter, husband, wife, etc. entered a code into the parental control setting and now can't remember, or you purchased something used that was locked with a code from a previous owner. Either way, now your device is locked down tight, and you need to guess the password in order to use your device.
