After the factory reset in service mode, the TV worked good for couple of days and again the convergence became out of line. I have done factory reset 4 times already, everytime it got better, but worked for couple of days only. Today, it is not getting better. Any suggestion is appreciated.
I asked this in another post; which was the wrong place, but can I get a copy of the Sony convergeance manual please? THANKS for anyone's ideas/helps on this forum.
I have a Sony KP-48V80 changed the ic's and Im having problems with the convergence. I hit the Flash Focus and the colors do not line up. Purchased a manually and when thru all settings. am getting an error code 11G. Could I have done something wrong when changing out the convergence ic's?
I have a Panasonic 53Wx42 projection T.V. and I replaced both convergence IC's (w/ STK392-110) because the screen seemed tilted and out of alignment, and the color red would no longer converge for me. The screen was not centered to the T.V. Anyway, also tested and replaced one resitor that had spot damage and was completely out of range. After doing this repair, I have the same condition. Now I went against my better judgment and opted for the cheaper IC's (about 5.99 at bluestar electronics)...however, since I have the identical condition, what could be causing this? I am baffled! Dying for some assistance....please help me!
I have a Sony KP-53XBR300 with a sudden major convergence failure. However, the convergence is only out of whack when the TV is in 4:3 aspect mode. If you put the TV in 16x9 Aspect mode (vertical compression on) the convergence is perfect.
Is my problem still likely the STK chips, or more likely something else?
All colors are well out of whack, but the red is notably worse. The picture is substantially bowed at the top and bottom, again only a problem in 4:3 mode. In service mode, you can move the red but you can't get it to line up. Haven't tried moving the other colors. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. I love this TV and want to get it working. Thanks!

Are the IC's something I can change out without knowledge of electronics?
