Hello, I have a 4 year old Mitsubishi 65813 that refuses to turn on...as of yesterday. It has always had the slow green blinking light( a curiosity) ...but as of yesterday it is in super rapid blink mode and it refuses to switch to slow blink mode... so I can not turn the set on. Is this the capacitor issue? Would you kindly forward me the repair instructions/diagrams? My email address is [email protected]. Much appreciation, Tom
I performed the repair as directed and my set worked fine for about a week. Now when i power it the green light flashes for about 1 minute then the set comes on. Any suggestion? Also, Is the CAP issue related to excesive heat or bad caps? I was thinking of doing the fan mod suggested in the directions
Zolton, I'm afraid your set is not the problem. Look in the instruction book and take the set off of power save mode. That happens all the time with this set. I have seen this a million times. I would for sure do the fan mod as described.
I've got a WS-65869 with the fast flashing green light and I can't turn it on. I've tried leaving it unplugged for a day and then plugging it in. That didn't work - still have the fast blink. Also trid the hardware reset - no joy. I'd like to have a go at the capacitor repair. Could you please send me the instructions/manual. I'm at steven_roby at yahoo dot com. THanks for your help in advance,
Hello, larry, if you could be so kind as to forward me the manual and directions for the blinking green light on the mitsu ws-65909 as well it would be much appreciated, pm or email, [email protected], thanks, John
Larry, I have the same problem WS65513 with blinking light. I'm very handy and would like the instructions please. [email protected]. Thank you very much.
I recently repaired my WS73513 and I have the following advice for you. First, if you don't have much experience soldering main boards, have someone else do the repair. These boards are really expensive. If you've successfully modded Xboxes, you are more that capable. If you attempt the repair yourself, use a good iron. Not one you bought for 5 bucks at Frys. You can use a solder sucker or braid to repove the solder but the $10 RS one mentioned in Larry's docs works best, so buy one. There's a PDF write up on the repiar called Myfix.pdf located at chrisandnat.com/Projects/BlinkingTV/blink.htm.Review this along with the docs Larry will be sending.
Larry Dillon said: Scott, I have sent you the documents you requested. Hope you can repair your TV set. If by any chance you cannot solder or do not have the experience with soldering, take the DM board to a local repair shop or ask someone you know who can solder. Good Luck
Larry:
I too have the dreaded green blinking light and don't want to pay the big bucks to get it fixed. Can you please send me the repair instructions? I will need to get someone to do the soldering for me - do you recommend a TV shop? Thanks so much in advance.
I never did receive the documents. Larry, if you get a chance could you send them to me again. I have the dm module out of my ws-55613 and there is an aluminum foil looking substance between the metal housing and the top of the board around the plug in for the card reader. this substance appears to be discolored and somewhat melted. Is this normal? the board was somewhat difficult to remove because of the same substance on the bottom of the board wher it attaches to the chassis. I would be interested to hear if anyone else has seen this. I believe that I have found the caps that are bad. They are blue and there is four of them. Thanks, [email protected]
Curt, I tryed to send the repair documents twice and they came back as undeliverable. Does your e-mail have a size limit to it or is the e-mail address wrong?
I too own a WS 65513 Mitsubishi 65 inch TV. Can you send me the service manual and instructions on how to repair to [email protected] please? Thanks a million.
larry i posted about my ws65511 code 22 no power up and you directed me in the right way however i neglected to leave you my e-mail address so you could send a copy of the service manual. it is on my post now and i have a few more questions for you if you have the time, please pop in and check my post when you get a chance
Larry Dillon said: If you are handy, and can solder, you may be able to save about 700 bucks if not more. There is a very common problem with these Mitsubishi TV sets. There is a digital board inside these puppies called the DM board. A lot of times there are four capacitors that go bad inside of these TV sets. Sometimes, depending on how bad the capacitors are, and if the capacitors did not blow out anything else on the Dm board, you can simply replace these four capacitors and this will fix your TV set. The average that this works on is about 65 to 70 % of the sets can be repaired with this fix. The others are power supply issues or the DM board has other issues. If you would like to attempt to repair your TV set, I will send you the instructions on how to do so. If you do not know how to solder well, do not attempt to replace the capacitors yourself. Pay a pro to do this for you. After all you are already saving a bundle of cash. Leave an e-mail address, and I will forward you the fix with and without the light engine. And if the capacitors inside the board are not swollen on the tops, as the direction shows you what they look like, change the capcitors anyway. I have had a few that looked good but the capacitors were on their way out. Good Luck
I would like the steps to do this procedure if you could email them to me at [email protected] Thanks for your assistance in this matter.
I could use some help with your repair guide to a Mit WS-65613 Medallion TV. I have picture and audio for a brief time (1 hr to 12 min. to 15 sec...it depends) and then it shut off video and audio and the green power light remains on. Is it overheating?? I have looked at the caps and none seem swollen or oozing stuff. From other posts and your help, it seems to be caps that need replacing. Could you please help diagnose the potential problem and send me some repair documents for the WS-65613 please. Things inside look dusty but nothing bulging or overtly burned. Help please. I am handy with a soldering iron. Email is [email protected]. Thanks in advance for ANY help. Bob+
Bob, you will need to change out the capacitor, as they are going bad. You may also have another problem that is common with that set. There is a small three legged 9 volt regulator behind the input board that may be intermittent, going bad, or have bad solder connections on it. I will send you the service manual, the cap change out instructions as well as a brief description on how to change and locate the regulator along with part numbers. Good Luck
Jame I did not miss it, I probably forgot because I have to put you on hold because you are posting on the wrong model number thread. Can you see what model number this thread is talking about?I will again put you on hold and I will take care of your model shortly.
I had the same blinking green light on my Mitsubishi WS-55711. I read your posts and had a repairmen out yesterday. He originally told me that he could repair it for $430, and I told him to go ahead. He worked for several hours and couldn't fix it. He told me I need a new digital board. He called today to tell me that he can't find one anywhere, that he'll keep looking, etc. . . but I basically realized I'm on my own with this. I have no competence whatsoever in digital electronics and wouldn't even know how to locate the DM board, capacitor, regulator or anything. I called in the professional, but sadly that was no help. Any suggestions? Thanks, Dawn [email protected]
I could also use some help. I have ws 55859 Mitsubishi with blinking timer light. I'm new to this forum Could you send me any info to fix this problem? Thanks Larry. [email protected]

Larry: Thanks for your super fast reply and willingness to help. I look forward to receiving the documents. I have at least taken pictures of the connections on the boards before removing anything. Nothing like blindly plugging things in! Again, thanks for your assistance in this. I will let you know how things go. Bob+
