The instruction manual was lost - I figured out how to change the time on this clock with the hidden button at the base of the clock but I can't get the times to stick. All help is appreciated! Lou
Thanks so much, Larry - you're awesome......from what I've read, I can only figure the dream machine is not so dreamy .......... trust me, from what I've read, I've been setting the machine correctly. I guess it's back to the manufacturer! Thanks again, Lou
I have a Sony Dream Machine ICF-218 and bought it specifically because I need the battery back-up for work. Recently the power went out and I noticed the display was off. Replaced the battery but when I unplug it, the display disappears again. It's not in backwards, seems battery related, everything else is ok...don't know what else to check! Nothing in the manual I can see.
I'd appreciate any ideas, Thanks.

I bought the Sony Dream Machine for my daughter and paid nearly $180 for it from Myers. It stopped working in less than a year. The volume turns up to 20 (full) automatically and the times cannot be set. The buttons do not respond when pressed. I changed the battery and followed the instructions, but it still does not work. Very disappointed! (and yes, I can read)
Gosh, Thanks for the tip.....I've been trying for an hour and finally thought, look it up, dummy.... Got it. My husband went into a a tizzy this morning because the clock was in the wrong year and thought it was DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME!!! hahha!! It was a hoot!

Hold down the clock button until the hour block digital clock display begins to flash. Next use the up-down button to set the hour desired. Then hit the clock button to activate the next routine which is the minutes.Set the minutes to the desired minute with the up-down button. Once the hour and minutes are set you can advance the function to AM-PM. I never heard a beep when I held down the clock button to start off with.the "clock" button is the key...just watch what flashes as you scroll through the functions with that clock" button. Once you activate a desired block...just use the up-down button to set your time. Good luck.....Buena suerte amigos...

If you cannot set the unit, you probably have a bad keypad or a broken connection going to it. Very common problem.
What's the bad keypad, Larry? Thanks, Lou
The little board or button assy. under the buttons you push.
