PS3 ip address Failed. PLEASE Help!

I see half the PS3 owners have this same question, but I cannot get my PS3 to hookup online.

My strength says 100%, but when I try to log on it says ip address failed.  I don't know much about computers, so half the info given out there just confuses me more.

Would someone please help me step by step if possible. We have a Netgear WPN824.

thank you so.... much any help is very much appreciated!!!!

I'm sure if we work together

I'm sure if we work together we can get you up and running.

First, do you know what kind of security you have enabled in your router? What have you tried to do to troubleshoot. Will be very helpful in helping you figure out where to start.

Thanks but how do I find this

Thanks but how do I find this out?

Routers typically have a web

Routers typically have a web interface that you can access through your computer's Internet browser.

Type: "192.168.0.1" (without the quotes) into the address bar and you should hit it. That's the most common, but some routers use differnent standards.

Did you set up your router when you got it, or did someone else?

192.168.1.1   That is what

192.168.1.1   That is what mine is.     what I type it in it comes up as the netgear smart wizard.  On the left of the page there is a scroll down sections.  It says Security service.  I clicked on that.  It says n/a under the antivirus software.  Is this what you're talking about?

What would be a good time that you're on here.  so we can better communicate.

ok...i had an ip addressing

ok...i had an ip addressing issue. if anybody else has this then here is what i did. i have a linksys wireless router G and its setup on a wep. my problem was that i had four wep keys generated and was trying to use the ones other than the 1st (or the one that i used as default transmit key which is adjusted in the router on the wireless security page). so make sure you use the default wep key even though you may have other systems, computers, or gaming equip under that same wep. anyways, hope this helps. it worked for me in a snap!

I had this problem,

I had this problem, everything else connects to the internet except the PS3. I solved it by hitting the Reset button on my wireless box/ router (Netgear), waited 10 mins for it to do it's thing and it worked fine afterwards :-)

Ok so mine is not connecting.

Ok so mine is not connecting. I used to have the wii connected but that doesn't anymore either. I have reset the router a hundred times, turned it on and off, unplugged it, made sure the wep key and everything was correct but nothing seems to work, any advice? I have verizon and a verizon wireless
router

with regards to the Verizon

with regards to the Verizon one, I saw a post saying that you need to manually put the ip address in, if that helps.
