Well, excuse me. Did you happen to read the forum topic? I think it says OEM MP3/4 player instructions. Do you happen to know what an OEM MP3/4 player is? If your player is a "name brand product" and not a cheap piece of crap, try checking out the company's site for more information and don't post in this section. If it isn't a "name brand product" than it was cheap. And since your product dosn't tell you how to put videos on it, I would say it's a piece of crap. So, you're pretty much stuck with everone else at step 1: "How do I put music/videos on this thing?"

Guys.  Let's keep it civil and constructive here.

LAVENDERS - do you know what, if any, brand your player is?  Let's start there and see if we can use that as a starting place to get some help with your problem.

LAVENDERS,

LAVENDERS,

I don't have any personal experience with these units, but it sure sounds like you're describing an OEM player.  For help with getting music on there, I'd take a look at what Mike B. posted earlier in this thread:

Mike B. said: OK, problems solved: 1) Make sure you are ripping your files as MP3 with no copy protection - these are settings in Windows Media Player (which I'm using to rip from CD). By default it's set to rip as .wma with copy protection! The files MUST be .mp3 & no copy protection (thats the format error problem). Look in Tools/Options to set this. 2) The MP3 files on the player must be in their own root folder - ie. folder name/mp3 file.  Not folder/folder/MP3 file.  I was just copying the generated folders from Media Player - this will not work - they must be in their own direct root folder. Media Player rips as Artist Folder/Album Folder/Track.mp3 - simply copy the Album Folder onto the player (can be renamed though!) My player is now working fine. Wouldn't have taken much for the seller to let us know really... Good job I know someone who can solve probems like this! Laughing Hope that helps you all.

As for video, I think similar advice is also probably relevant.  Make sure you're saving your videos in an UNPROTECTED and SUPPORTED video format (MP4???).  Make sure they're being saved to the root level of your player's file structure.

Has anybody else been able to get video on these OEM players?  Anybody have additional advice to give?

I too bought the MP4 Player

I too bought the MP4 Player from ebay for a Valentins gift.  Was able to download music onto it.  But now it only plays a short piece of the song then goes onto the next plays another short piece.

How can I get it to play the whole song before going on to the next?

Also,  the screen stays on for a very short amount of time then it goes off.  How can I get it to stay on?

As this is a gift, I don't want the person not being able to use it.

Any help would be appreciated since I am still able to send it back to the ebay seller if I hurry.

I have tried and tried for

I have tried and tried for the past month to get a video on this crazy OEM MP3/MP4 players and have finally done it!!!!
I used the AMV convert tool here is the link

http://www.brothersoft.com/amv-convert-tool-50890.html

All I did was chose the file I wanted to transfer in the INPUT FILE box and typed J:\ as the OUTPUT FILE (J:\ is the drive the the MP3 is on MY PC check which drive your PC has assigned to your MP3)

Then it hit the green button that has 2 arrows on it. It took about 30 to transfer a full length movie but was well worth the wait! I hope this helps!!

Please let me know if my instructions are not clear this is the first time I have posted anything like this!!!!

Hello everyone. I have just

Hello everyone. I have just bought the same 4GB OEM MP3/4 player from the dillholes in Hong Kong. As you can probably tell already I am not happy at all. I intended on giving this to my daughter for Christmas. However, I got the device, read through all of the impossible to understand instructions, all of the forums I could find on the web, EVERYTHING, but when I tried to figure out this piece of junk MP3 player, it doesnt work at all. I have charged it for a full day, and the battery still finds a way to only last about 3 minutes. I am unable to load songs, pictures, movies, or ANYTHING on to it. So obviously, what any guy would want to do, I want to ship it back and get a refund. So I contact the seller with this same message, and he sends back one sentence that reads exactly this,

Try charging it in the ON postion it will not charge in the OFF postion. I don't know why but for some reason I could not use the USB connections on the front of my PC I had to use the back ones (it maybe my PC but other devices work on my front USB's) I also had to reformat mine to be able to load songs and videos on mine. I by right clicking on the the removable disk drive in My Computer and click on Format. Don't worry it will not erase the software off the MP3/MP4, I guess it is stored in a protected memory file. Hope this helps! I understand your frustation, I bought 4 of these my my nieces and nephews for Christmas and I took me a month ot figure out how to load/operate these crazy things! But it was well worth the headach when they opened them; they range in age from 7-9 and were all screaming with excitement! Needless to say it killed their excitment about any other presents!!!

I just bought one of these

I just bought one of these 4GB OEM MP3/4 players from ebay - looks just like an ipod nano. I was able to add close to 200 files without any problems - now when I try to add more the new files have a "format error" the other files play fine. Any thoughts?

Ok guys here is whats

Ok guys here is whats happened

you have been ripped off

the reason for the errors are they dont play mp4 or mp3 unless converted
main reason the seller has hacked you memory...

if you say bought an 8GB chances are its really a 2GB they manipulate the chip into stating its 8GB and will let you put up to 8GB of files on it, then watch it crash with errors, REASON? the chip doesnt know what to do with the unwated files...

heres what to do

my first advise is personal -DO NOT buy products from Hong Kong or China- they look good in pictures and sound great even the price is affordable, BUT you get what you pay for! EBAY needs to shut down these sellers!

first of all to prove what your real storage capicity is

unscrew the back and the look at your serial number
may say somthing like Samsung KGAG9XXX
this will actually tell you what the real capacity is by then searching on a samsung website or by clicking the following link below submitted by a smart ebay buyer who had the same problem

http://www.hm2k.com/posts/mp4-player for basic story and solution

this

http://reviews.ebay.ie/Hacked-changed-MP4-player-memory-how-to-fix-it_W0...

for a better understanding and solution which then takes you to this guy

on ebay who has gone out of his way to make steps for you

http://reviews.ebay.co.uk/How-To-Reset-MP4-Player-To-Show-Correct-Size-I...

by following these steps you will allow you PC to finally read what the real memory is then allowing you to fit what you really can fir on your player

there are many ways and forums telling you that you can get it to play mp3 but dont waste your time. they can only read files such as acc for music and or AMV for movies, if your AVI/MP4 converter works for you then let me know how!!!

finally dont leave positive feedback for the seller. this allows thm to slip through ebays loop holes to then go on and scheme others! TEll the seller you are aware of what has happened and you have proof to back it up, try toget as much compensation as you can. they will of course try to feed you excuses about problems with software and that if you send back they will replace it! but again this is never the case!

this website is good for tips and back ups for this EXACT problem YOU ARE NOT ALONE

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/henrietta.t/mp4/index.htm A DEFINATE MUST READ!!!

if you have any troubles please respond and i will get back to you ASAP

once again, i feel for you, i have been there 3 times with mobiles and now an

mate make sure it is 8gb

mate make sure it is 8gb memory, the chinese selling them on ebay liek to hack the memory, meaning i bought an 8gb one and i tried to put 8gb worth of music on it and it crashed, i checked the serial code on the inside chip on the manufact's website and it was only a 2gb and i had to go through a program to get it to read correctly....

to get music on it, just copy your music and paste it into the drive folder.
eg mycomputer/h:drive/music

once you drag the or copy and the music into the drive you can then unplug from pc and play...

Does anyone know what is the

Does anyone know what is the largest storage capacity sd micro that the OEM 8GB MP3/MP$ Multi Media Player with touch screen and digital camera will accept?(model#B001AH5KQQ) I have a large collection of mystery theater radio shows that I would like to put in one place to listen to easily and is portable. I could buy seperate micro sd's for seperate collections. this one has 1400 shows about 45 min. each so it is too much to put on cd's. Is this player worth the $49 on a limited budget? I am unhappy with my sansa c250. It would sure be nice if someone out there would invent a discman type device that would play data dvd's for the elderly who can not grasp mp3 devices or read the displays. My mystery theater collection took a little over 3 data dvd's for the collection. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi guys. I purchased my OEM

Hi guys. I purchased my OEM MP3 player from Sears on-line. I am having all the same problems and some 4 years after the first blog!!! I am returning it back to whomever! I did not purchase this device to become a techno-geek/trouble-shooting programmer or pay additional monies for the English manual! I leave that to the younger people. I am content with the Sirrus/XM radio on my BlackjackII smartphone.
