Larry,

Larry,

I have a WS-55813 Mitsubishi Diamond.  Thank you for sending out this info to people.  I must have sold close to 500 of Mits' tvs and earned this one for free, to only be saddened that I woke up to a blinking green light and no way to resolve the issue as in the past by unplugging or hitting the reset.  I would be very grateful if you could pass the info on to me.  My email address is [email protected].  Once again, thank you for your time.

Hey Larry -  I've written

Hey Larry -  I've written before and you've been so kind as to send me the information on the DM board capacitor fix.  My Mitsubishi model is the HDTV 55909.  I opened it up yesterday and found that the capacitors (7 of them) are on a separate small power supply board that feeds the DM board.  It's in the shield box along with the DM board.  The capacitors looked fine... no swelling at the tops and no evidence of leakage.  I'm stumped now.  Could these capacitors be the problem on this model?  Please let me know, and send any additional information that might help with this model.  I'll order three more capacitors and do the fix if you think it has a chance!!!

Many thanks Larry.  VERY glad you're there.

Well the tech just came out. The person that took my call thought the lamp was bad and sent the tech out with a new one. The tech said its a communications issue, and that he has to order a new board. He didnt specify which board, his quote " not the caps issue, he has seen that before on earlier models, and has never seen this happen on this model ". Any how he ordered the board and will be back in a few days. I'll keep you posted.

Larry,

Larry,

Thank you for the "green blinking light" repair info for our WS-65513. I got the DM board out ok and all 4 caps are bulged up a lot. Would 100uf 25v caps be a good replacement?

Thanks for your help...

Larry Dillon
No snickers, those will not

No snickers, those will not work, you need 1000 mfd not 100. Try these.  http://www.mouser.com/search/refine.aspx?Ntt=140-HTRL16V1000-RC%09

Larry,

Larry,

I came home to the perma-blinking light problem tonight--I own a Mitsubishi WS-65613.  Is there any way you can send me the repair documents as well?  Also, I'm somewhat of an electronics novice--is the 25V or 35V capacitor going to make a difference safety-wise as opposed to the original 16V capacitors Mitsubishi used?

 Thanks in advance,

I will send the info to you.

I will send the info to you. I use the High temp 105c 16 volt capacitors. I will have a link where you can buy them from without waiting. And they are cheap too! Good Luck with the repair.

Just an update for everyone...I got it fixed.  Pulled that DM module out of there, changed the 4 1000uF 16V caps to 1000uF 35V caps, put it back together and it worked like a champ!

Thanks all.

Larry,

Larry,

Thank you soooo much! We got the caps from mouser as you suggested and took the board to a local tv repair shop to solder for us. He only charged 20.00! I'd like to send you a check to thank you for saving our tv and no doubt a high repair bill - I don't do PayPal so if you would like to send me your address I'll get it out in the mail for you. I am new to this site - THANKS FOR HAVING IT!!!
We have the same problem of the devil-flashing-green light from hell!!! We prefer to not pay $1000 to have some guy come fix it. We have the original manual the tv came with, but how can I get this manual with the pictures to help me do this myself??? I do not know what a DM board or capacitors are... but I am willing to give it a try.

Larry Dillon said: This problem could be a bad DM board.  If you are handy or knows anyone who is, and they can solder, I have an instructional file that will show you how to take out the DM board, find the bad parts, and even give you a source where to get the parts. There are even pictures included!  Now once you get this apart, and the capacitors look good, check the capacitors, or have them checked.  I have seen in a few cases where some folks have only replaced the capacitors that looked bad.  If this does not fix your problem, you will need to have a pro come out and check out your TV set..  If you do not have a clue what you are doing, please play it safe and call in a tech.  If this board is indeed bad, the repair should not eceed 1000 bucks.  If you want this file, leave an e-mail address and i will forwar it to you.  Remember, there is a possibility that there is another problem with your TV set, but this has fixed over 65% of the peoples TV sets that I have shared this file with.  Good Luck, and let us know if this helps you.

Hi Larry,

We have just had this dreaded blinking light occur to us with out WS65869.  Can you email me the file for the DM board capacitor replacement steps?  Much appreciated!  [email protected]
