I have encountered a recent problem with my DVD/Video unit. Whether, I am playing a DVD, video or recording a tape, the unit keeps turning itself off. Although the unit is about 2 years old, it has not been used very much and this problem has only recently occurred. I would appreciate any advice before I disconnect the unit and cause myself additional problems.

Weird DVD/VCR problem

Recently we moved, and ever since, I can't get my DVD player and VCR to hook up properly with the RF modulator. Every time I try to use the VCR, the DVD player screen acts all fuzzy. Usually it clears up after a while, but it's annoying and isn't the way it should be. Also, I can't really look at the channels by using the VCR's channel changer. Hardly any will show up and most are fuzzy. (The VCR has some red and blue snow while trying to play videos, too.

No Audio on Toshiba SD-3960 DVD Player

My Toshiba DVD Player Model SD-3960 played fine for about 11 months, then all of a sudden the audio went out. This happened just after a friend disconnected the cables from the TV hooking up the DVD player to play a video camera file on the TV that he had recorded. When I hooked the cables from the DVD player back to the TV, the audio was gone from the DVD player.

Since, I've tried different cables and even a different TV but the audio is still gone. The video is fine and still looks very good. Did something blow out in the audio circuit of the DVD player?

rca DVD/vcr combo, snow and sound with vcr . Both good with dvd

I have an RCA DRC 6100 combo DVD/VCR . From one day to the next the vcr section just started playing snow( not a little snow all snow, no picture shadows or anything) but he sound is fine.The DVD player works fine both picture and sound. Both devices pipe out the same rca jacks(3 cables from unit to tv). I have tried cleaning the heads with a tape but had no effect. What else could be wrong?

dvd recorder/ vcr combo

Looking to purchase a dvd,vcr recorder for copying old vhs tapes onto dvd as well as recording new dvd's from a new plasma hdtv. Is there a brand that works best? Is a dvd/vcr combo the best way to go or should I get individual components? It seems Sony is the only company that makes a combo that can read all types of dvd (+/-, etc.) But the ratings on the newest combo wasn't good. I have a new Hitachi plasma so I need something compatible. Any suggestions?
