No Audio on Toshiba SD-3960 DVD Player

My Toshiba DVD Player Model SD-3960 played fine for about 11 months, then all of a sudden the audio went out. This happened just after a friend disconnected the cables from the TV hooking up the DVD player to play a video camera file on the TV that he had recorded. When I hooked the cables from the DVD player back to the TV, the audio was gone from the DVD player.

Since, I've tried different cables and even a different TV but the audio is still gone. The video is fine and still looks very good. Did something blow out in the audio circuit of the DVD player? I've heard that this model has had audio problems. What recourse do I have?
